Course Curriculum Overview

The course is a very unique one and the curriculum is very good. The subject is very vast and detailed. There is plenty of lab work to do, and the labs are very well stocked and the infrastructure is excellent.

Placement Experience

The placement opportunities for the Minerals Processing and Applied Geology programs are very excellent, as the department has managed to have 100% placement. The postings are in various different private and public firms in India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for the M.Sc degree in Geology is quite low. The fees for one academic year is just Rs. 15,719/- so the total fees is Rs. 31,438/-. This includes all the miscellaneous fees such as lab fees, registration fees etc.

Campus Life

The university has many different extracurricular for the students. The department organizes many different events such as industrial visits, seminars and so on. There is an active NSS and NCC unit as well.

Admission

The admission is done on the basis of the merit obtained in the qualifying exam. The admission process is very easy, you just have to go to the official website of Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University and fill out all the details and then submit the form.

Faculty

There are a total of 5 faculty members in the department and they are all very well qualified and have a PhD in the field. They are all very experienced and they are excellent educators as well. The lectures are also interesting.

Placement Experience:

We enter the placement at the end of 3rd year almost at 4th year(6th to 7th semester). The placement cell organizes various traning program, including mock interviews, group discussions, and communication skills workshops. Past 3 to 4 years more than 10 companies per year offered hiring 100+ students. But over the year the companies have come down and providing les opportunities. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, etc recruite students from this college. The highest package is 25LPA and the average package is around 6LPA. Due to the increase in the rate of admission, the percentage has been decresed. Almost 25 out of 100 students are getting placed in this college. After getting degree, I will try my level best to get placed in campus itself. If not, I am interested more in Competitive exams, I will focus on it.

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

Placement Experience:

From the7th sem onwards campus placements are put in place for btech students. Many companies such as microsoft, google, BMW, mercedes, accenture and others look for students here. The top 100 of each branch get the highest packages with the average of that being 22lpa for the cce branch. The rest of the students that are placed have an average salary of 14 lpa. Almost all the students are placed with the placement rate being around 90% for my branch. I plan on working for 2 years after getting placed and then pursuing an MBa degree abroad to further my tenure as a valuable asset to whatever company takes me under their wing.
