Mahestala college-Review

The college is affiliated to Calcutta university. And is really good for education of the students of minority communities. The campus is good. And allover college life here is great. I am experiencing worth remembering days here.

The course curriculum is well structured and researched as per the knowledge of a student of journalism. Also It's a Semistar system. And the course is vocational. It's really good course curriculum.

My course is itself job oriented and vocational training course. So we have good opportunities after graduation for the jobs from here. The teachers also prepare us practically for the placements. to provide industrial training to us in the respective fields, the college has made alliance with many industries or factories in order to have practical experiences.

There are various events taken place throughout the year such as foundation day, annual sports, saraswati pooja is also done here. Also various events are celebrated throughout the year such as women's week etc..

The main goal of my college is to help the minority community for education as well as to those who are economically vulnerable. So the fees is very much feasible it's just Rs.6,075 Also fee concessions are also available for the minorities.

My college do provide loans or concessions on even scholarships to the students who are of minority or are Acadamadically good. Or either are very vulnerable economically. General categories are also provided with scholarships in the basis of academic performance.

Various events as well as extracurricular activities are often conducted in my college as for the exposure, experience and improvement of students. And there are reserved seats for all the categories of students be it minority community or general. However there is no discrimination regarding Gender. Everyone is treated equally.

I got my admission here on the basis of my merit. You have to pass 10+2 with atleast 45% Online applications are been filled for the further procedure of admission. There are limited seats in every department. I chose journalism over any other course as I want to be a news reporter .

The faculty is great. Well qualified as well as experienced in there particular fields. They try to make us explore things and help us improve our knowledge. They tell us how we should not hesitate in any circumstances if we are in journalism to speak on anything. It's really good to have such amazing teachers.
