Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure and syllabus is designed in such a way that makes it extremely easy for us to study on our own and still score very well. The distance education program is ideal for those who have other engagements or cannot attend a traditional fulltime college.

Placement Experience

Placement opportunities could be made available for us. However, the professors are always willing to coach us on how to improve our resume, how to be better in interviews etc. There are several online courses also made available. There are resources to help us with job applications as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very inexpensive and this makes education very accessible for all individuals. The distance education programmes prove to be an extremely effective tool at obtaining education. The fees for B.Com for all the years is just 3,100 Rs.

Campus Life

We have a lot of opportunities for extracurricular activities. Since this is not a traditional full time course, we have a lot of opportunities for us in the way of free time and engagements of various kinds. They accept all kinds of individuals regardless of race,class, caste etc.q

Admission

The admission process is extremely easy. We just have to fill a form online on the website of University of Calicut, School of Distance Education. Fill all the details very carefully and upload all necessary documents and there will be a confirmation mail.

Then faculty is at large very good. They are always available to solve doubts and are generally very friendly and nice. The number of professors is limited, but they are very good and available for us. They are all well qualified

Course Curriculum Overview:

Data Science is a rising field in computer science. It has lots of oppurtunities in todays world and easy compared to other fields, which made me choose data science. The curriculum consist of various computer programming languages including Python, R and so on which are vital in the field of data science. There are also experienced faculties for teaching of the programming languages. I personally felt that lab hours are not adequate and also the available hours are also not properly utitlised by some teachers. At the end of each semester we have exams and results are published soon as the exams are over, no lagging compared to other universitites.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
