Abhishek's Review On National Geophysical Research Institute - [NGRI], Hyderabad

The mission of the college is to carry out multidisciplinary areas of highly developed complex structure of earth's structure and their interlinked substructures.The students are given a close understanding of the Earth's processes , producing strategies to minimize loss of life and property and natural disasters. NGRI is structured into seven major R&D groups and activities(21) which gives the students information about a variety of geochemical techniques like geomagnetism, geochronlogy, seismology, airborne geophysics etc.I would highly recommend this college to those who have interest in geography & research.

It is a three year program in which a students gains a doctorate degree in physics.It includes 4 to 6 core subjects with research , thermodynamics , nano physics etc. We are told about the basic laws of nature and how we should deal with the environment around.

Various top notch companies visit our college to select students for the role of research analyst , geography manager , Assistant manager and many more.The highest package offered was around 12 lpa which was grabbed by one of my seniors.

The fees of the course is around 20000 per month.I consider this fees to be very feasible seeing the infrastructure that the college has provided us with.You need to pay the registration and hostel fees separately in the beginning of the foundation year.

The labs of the college are well maintained. Many sports tournaments are held in our college to uphold the interests of the students other than academics.Cultural events and campaigns such as Save the girl child are also organised by our student council.

The students seeking admission in this course should be a M.sc/M.Tech/M.sc Tech holder with first class in any branch of knowledge like physics, chemistry, mathematics, geosciences. You need to apply online for the course . Fill in the necessary details of educational qualification .Pay the fees . Then you need to regularly check the merit list which needs to be uploaded on the college website . I had my name in the second merit list. Thereafter I was called for documentation process and granted admission.

The teachers of the college are very supportive. Most of the teachers in my department are in a age group of 40 to 50.They have an experience of 15+ years in their field of expertise.All the doubts are duly solved by our mentors willfully and they guide us in achieving our goals.
