Course Curriculum Overview
My subject was history in which we had development economics, economic history of Modern India, Social history etc. We were provided with course packs as a study material. The university followed the semester system and our examination would also be taken at the end of the semester.
Placement Experience
The college helped a lot during our placement. Many of the research institutions and companies were invited. The university also takes an examination in which we are supposed to score a good rank in order to get selected, otherwise, the chances may be high of getting rejected.
College Events
At Calicut University, they focus more on the learning aspect and promote more education and knowledge through industrial visits and seminars. Events also happen like sports day and annual fest but not regularly. The campus is really nice and the surrounding area is lush green.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees were very reasonable and anyone could afford education here. For BA it was approximately ?3000 per year. Other than that we had to pay ?500 admission fees, and others would depend upon the services you avail. We also have to pay examination fees during the end of the semester.
Campus Life
The university has a good infrastructure and the culture here is embracing the diversity present regardless of any differences. The campus is big and they provide with a library, canteen, hostel, labs, sports ground, art room, medical facility, student grievance centre etc.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors were very outgoing and friendly. As the university has a strict no ragging policy and also has a student grievance centre to discuss any of our problems, we did not face any kind of difficulty during our course of time. They made our time there fun and enjoyable.
Admission
I chose this particular course due to my growing interest in the subject. To apply in CU I had to give an entrance exam. With that, you also need to be an intermediate graduate from HSE of Kerala State Board or any other recognised by the university.
Faculty
Many of our faculty were PhD holders. They were all well qualified and had a decent way of teaching. Most of them were friendly in nature and they would also get involved in club activities and participate along with us. They were also helpful as they would provide us with notes for exams.
