Course Curriculum Overview
My course in Fisheries teaches us in details about Physiology, Taxonomy, Anatomy and biology of finfish and shellfish and also about Inland and Marine fisheries and about fish population dynamics and stock assessment. The exams in our college are held 2 times a year along with short cyclic exams every week. The curriculum is relevant and has 4 years and 8 semesters. The last 2 semesters include skill development program.
Placement Experience
Almost 100% of the students get internships and C.P. company was the major one. The lowest salary offered was about 24000 per month and the highest salary offered by one of my friend was around 1 lpm. Roles offered by the companies are as assistant director, director of fisheries. inspector of fisheries, general manager and assistant manager, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee for my 2 year course was about 7500 rupees per year which was very easily affordable for any student, as compared to the other big colleges. Hence, the fees is quite feasible for me. This fee is excluding the hostel rent and food though.
Campus Life
Our college has many extracurricular activities apart from its studies like football competition, Basket ball competition, swimming competition, competition in badminton, table tennis and kabbadi each of which are held at least once in every 6 months.
Hostel Facilities
Our college has many labs like labs for microbiology, aquaculture processing, aquaculture engineering, aquatic animal health management and extension. All labs are having every facilities like test tubes, machinery, chemicals, etc. Our classrooms are also smart as it includes smart power point presentation and CCTV.
Admission
To get admission in this college, the candidate should be a Intermediate pass with a minimum percentage of 50% and can apply for their admission by filling their forms in their official website. Admissions to its degree are based on merit received in master's degree program respectively.
Faculty
The teachers in our college are qualified graduates and among them almost 90% of the teachers are PhD scholars who have completed their studies from abroad. They never ignore any student and are always there to help them in moving forward.
