Course Curriculum Overview
Very good actually. Applied Economics is a relatively new course at Masters level. Hence, the course is ought to be good. The exams are conducted on semester basis as per the CBCS pattern. We have a total of 4 semesters split up.
Placement Experience
The course was started in 2018 only and hence the very first batch of MA Applied Economics is yet to pass out (expected in 2020) from the department. For internships, the teachers guide us on where we can apply to get a decent one.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees was Rs 5500 per annum which amounts to Rs 11000 as total course fees for two years. For a high demand course like MA in Applied Economics, the fees is very affordable. In fact, it is much lesser than any other institute offering this course.
Campus Life
Workshops are very central to our department. To make us understand them methodologies and ad their application, they are conducted on a regular interval. As the course takes a lot of time, I don't participate much in other activities but they regularly take place in the university.
Admission
The admission was done through merit. Application charges were Rs 800. The prior requirement is to have Economics as a subject at graduation level. As I wanted to pursue Applied economics which is offered by very few colleges in India, I decided to go for this course here.
Faculty
The faculties are good and they have good mathematical clarity which helps us in learning key concepts quite easily. Though we have good professors but the dept. is newly formed which I feel is a minor drawback.
