Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum was Physics oriented as M.Tech in Sensor Technology falls under Department of Physics. Being from an engineering background, I was looking forward to learn more about engineering however things turned out to be different. From the research point of view, DIAT is the perfect platform, thanks to its tie-up with all the major institutions across India and access to all the DRDO Labs. However, DIAT gives more preference to research in defence areas.

Placement Experience

4.5

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology has a Placement Cell that helps in the smooth conduction of the placement drive. Placement Cell builds relationship with many reputed companies. Training Cell of DIAT trains the students so that they have the required skills in them which are required by the recruiters. This Placement Cell not only focuses on enhancing the technical knowledge of the students but also helps them to enhance their soft skills that will ultimately help them in their overall personality development. Various other training programmes are also conducted by the Cell to help the students to crack Aptitude Test, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Verbal and also mock interviews are conducted for their students. It makes sure that the maximum number of students are placed in the reputed companies coming from the public as well as the private sector.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was practical only as one could easily pay from the scholarship which one was receiving. Per Semester Fees is 15, 000. and hostel fees was to be paid if you want hostel facility . and this is a small amount that easily scholarship students can pay

Campus Life

There were many events celebrated in our college. like one of the Honorable event , Republic Day and Independence Day are the events which cannot be missed. Since it is a defence college and their were service officers studying in the college the events had that grandeur feeling. Apart from that each and every festival were celebrated irrespective of religious beliefs.

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Remarks:

I didn't have any negative remarks until last year. So there was a mistake on my form fill up. I put the right details and selected my subjects. I have selected English as my MIL and submitted my form. But when I get the admit card I got to know that my MIL subject was selected as Assamese which I never selected. Then in the examination I gave the ex for English and didn't gave for Assamese as my subjects wasn't Assamese. I told the teacher who signed my examination copy he told that it will be fixed but on the results day I got to know that it was marked as absent in the MIL exam because I didn't sit for the Assamese examination which I did because I was English student. Then I asked them they said to get my sessional exam marks from the HOD of English department. I went to the HOD and she said that the copy in which they put the records is with the commerce head so I went to him. He said he didn't have the copy and told me to get to the HOD I went back to HOD she said she didn't have the copy. Both of them didn't have the copy for which I didn't able to fix the problem. It's not cool.
