It isn't an easy-going scenario here. Algebra, Topology, and Analysis are few among the various fields of study that the institute plans for the first-year students. Assignments are given in massive numbers too.

Fee Structure And Facilities
As minimal as an amount of 4k per year is charged as the fee for the course. It is completely affordable for the postgraduates to pay. You see the major challenge is to qualify the entrance exam, rest is easy.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
TIFR is financed by the Department of Atomic Energy of Government of India. A minimal (or no) fee is charged for the course, in fact, an effective amount as accommodation is given to the students depending on the course they choose.
Campus Life
A library with two different sections storing over 1,00,000 volumes of books and famous national-international journals respectively. The section which faces the sea is a relaxing place for students to read peacefully.
Admission
Though I was doing my Master's in mathematics I had to focus more on the TIFR GS entrance exam to pursue my Ph.D. in Mathematics. Not only that, after I qualified the exam with good ranking, but only 1.5 % of top merit list students were being considered! It was such a critical situation, yet eventually, I was noticed and called for the interview that went quite well.
Faculty
We have a department of over 15+ professors appointed for different research projects and teaching as well. Though the male-female teaching faculty ratio is as low as 10:1. That's the only area where the institute lack.
