Bhargav's Review On University Of Hyderabad - [UOH], Hyderabad

I cracked HCU common entrance examination in 2011 for joining this university. The main reason for joining this university is the academic reputation.

I worked with CGG, a government organization which works on the policy making process of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Stipend offered to me is around 10,000 per month. Some of my friends worked with organizations like ministry of finance, RBI, NABARD, IPE etc.

My university is mainly a research oriented university but we do have placements. We are generally taken by banking, analytical firms, government organizations etc.

We just have one university level cultural event called SUKOON, but every department conducts there own technical workshops, national and international seminars.

We have very feasible fee structure in my university. We generally pay 2000 to 3000 per semester including hostel rent, Food expenses are extra. Food bill is based on the number of days you eat in the mess. So it is very affordable for everybody to study here.

As university fees are very low, students generally don't take any loans from banks but different type of scholarships are available to students like UGC JRF, CSIR JRF, AP state welfare scholarship, Telangana State welfare scholarship apart from this university also provides some stipend for the students.

We don't have a strong alumni network, but recently university administration is taking steps to build a strong alumni network. University made compulsory for every student in the campus to enroll in the alumni website.

We have a bi semester based evaluation system in the university were 60% marks are taken from end semester exam remaining 40% from internal assessment by respective faculties. Faculties conducts internal once in a month so we do have exams every week.

Most of my faculty studied from various premier institutions in the country and aboard. Most of them are having post Doctoral degrees from Oxford, Harvard etc.
