Remarks

I would say IIIT Hyderabad is very good college with technically sound faculty and nice infrastructure to support its a very energising atmosphere with eager and vibrant student, i deem myself lucky to have got opportunity to do my course in IIT-Hyderabad.

Entrance Preview

For my MSIT course i took a seperate entrance test consisting of aptitude & english tests ,i scored 67/100 got 28th rank among all candidates i had 3-4 choices, other been JNTU, Hyderabad but i chose IIIT Hyderabad because of its reputation and IIIT dint dissapoint me at all not for nothing, it got such a good reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

MSIT is a "Learning by Doing" Oriented course" which prepares student to be Industry ready so the emphasis is for doing the projects by learning while doing it rather than the traditional exam approach, here we are evaluated by the quality of our deliverable (project) and our presentation and viva there are no exams.

Internships Opportunities

Personally, i haven't taken internship in any company and i was not required to and i got directly placed in campus selection so i dint get the need to go for internship and also the course curriculum is such that students are industry ready.

Placement Experience

4.5

We got placed in 2007 out of 30 odd of our classmates, all got placed 100% got placed companies that visited are, Google, yahoo - 7.5 LPA, American Express - 6.5 LPA, Dell - 4 LPA, Aricent - 3.5 LPA, convergys 4 LPA ,IBM - 3.5 LPA, Strand life sciences - 4 LPA, MAQ - 4 LPA.

College Events

4

There were many cultural festivals & IIIT fest where we get to chill out and relax and enjoy the participation in various activities and also gaming contests there were also coding contests where we get to compete with the best of the lot.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is as below 1 lakh for each of the 2 years of the course so total is 2 lakh rupees to be paid at the beginning of the year though bit expensive, the course quality is very good and worth every cent of the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got educational loan from SBH ( STate Bank of Hyderabad ) at good intrest rate there is also a small SBH office in the campus for serving students banking needs.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus was quite good with cricket and football and basketbal courts, the labs were quite good and upto date since our course was full software industry based, we had labs all the time open 24 hrs we had gaming competitions and other fests and fashion contests where students from other prestigious colleges like NIFT also participated coming to tolerance, i dint face or obeserve any issue wit this as all students were educated and chilled out and mix easil.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

We couldnt get the hostel accomodation since the MSIT course starts bit late and there is heavy competition for the hostel rooms the hostel rooms are single occupancy mess food is decent, serves north and south food also there is fast food corner where you can have a quick bite and some juices as well4 of our friends got a 2 bhk flat nearby ( then in 2005-07) near gulmohar park colony at about 4 kms from the college cost of flat was 3.5 k per month (900/person).

Alumni/Alumna

We had good interaction with our seniors and some of them served as our mentors too guiding us in getting used to the curriculum since its very different than the normal courses we gelled very well with them.

Exam Structure

There were no written exams like in traditional courses since the course is based on learning by doing we are given some project which is divided in to sub tasks and that need to be completed each week or 2weeks similar to industry style we need to give presentation and demo on our project and are evaluated by quality of our project and the presentation and demo.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of the college is very good and consists of technically sound faculty who have actually done the course previously and well versed with the "Learning by Doing" model, the guide us efficiently to enable us learn the concepts and develop the able to do by ourselves rather than spoon feeding.

The geology has very significant importance to human in more ways but the Geology related jobs are very less in state government and central government. Few geology related companies are give opportunities to students wit. Internships and also provide jobs with tough exam and interview. The companies are Geological Survey of India and NGRI etc.. we expect that jobs in state government jobs but very less in state government in geology related jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite relevant and comprehensive offering a balanced combination of theoretical and practical knowledge for learning. This curriculum helps in developing both conceptual clarity and analytical skills and prepare students well for real - world challenges as well as higher academic pursuits. This curriculum is strong and valuable. The frequency and timing of exams are generally reasonable though at times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is an amazing course. Helps me understand the concept very deeply the curriculum is also really good. Every teacher has their own way of teaching some can improve but it is fine we can try to study and understand by ourselves a bit. When it comes to internals its of 20 marks we have as such three of them for one sem and avg of 10 is taken from it internals are of 1hr and externals will be about 2hrs 30mins and labs of 3hrs

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the biotechnology course includes all the relevant topics needed to gain information about the subject. The curriculum also includes currently developing topics of interest which may gain popularity in the future (like bioinformatics). It thoroughly prepares us for real world applications as we gain exposure to various fields of interest in the subject and get a hands-on training in the subject. Ab area i would like to suggest for improvement is to alot equal no. Of periods to different papers in the subject as each topic has its own value in the academic and career purpose. The internals are conducted every month within a duration of 1 hour for each paper. there are currently 4 internals for our batch, each of 10 marks. The externals or the end semester exams are conducted at the end of the semester approx 6 months, which are of 50 marks. 10 marks is alloted for attendance, bringing the total to 1000.
