Government Medical College in Gadag

This is one of the best college for Medical Science in Gadag, Karnataka. The college gives a lot of scope and exposure to the students. They have good academics and faculty, good placements, also a happening college life. Life of an MBBS student have never been easy but atleast you can enjoy good facilities and opportunities here.

The course curriculum is semester based and nothing different than any other MBBS course across the country. The course requires 5years in which includes internships. As you know MBBS is not an easy degree. So obviously the course includes hectic schedules, sleepless nights and a lot of hard work. Moreover it is the same everywere.

The placement cell is pretty good. But of course not everyone gets placed as it is MBBS. Around 70-80% of the students gets placed through college's long term internship process. The stipends here would be around 20,000 rs. from Government of Karnataka.

I would definitely not say it was very affordable it was almost an average if you compare it to other government colleges but it is much affordable when you compare it to private colleges. You need to pay almost INR 3,35,000 total in 5 years, for me it wasn?t that expensive but for the students who are coming from not so good economical background will certainly have a little problem.

There are a lot of events and functions in the college. They specially organise sports carnival including major sports like cricke, football, volleyball, basketbal, it is conducted annually. Also there is an annual cultural fest conducted by the college. The other facilities like laboratory and library are well organised, highly equipped and full of resources.

The admission process is based on entrance and merit. The admission process requires atleast 50% marks in your 10+2 in science stream. Also you need to appear for NEET-UG and get a good rank there. The basic criterias for admission in GIMS are these. The application mode is offline.

Well, in my opinion the faculty members are one of the best you can get. This is a government college so they always recruites the best for the students. The faculties are very helpful, co operative and they always try to clear the student's doubts regardless of any subject. They are all successful doctors so there is no doubt of the authenticity of the information they provide.
