Remarks
The college is a well recognized institution. It has all the facilities and meets up all the criterias of a proper IIT. Once you get here, you go back with a bright future. All round development is promised by the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Civil Course curriculum here includes more of fields works and less of theory because this field requires more of practical knowledge. Exams are held twice a year (end semesters) and internals four times a year. The schedule is a hectic one because of our field work.
Placement Experience
As far as I got to know from my seniors and placement cell authorities, 60-79% students were placed from final year. The highest offered salary was 9 LPA and lowest was 6 LPA. Companies like Infotech, Infosys visited for placements. Internships were also offered to at least 10% students with stipend of 8000-10,000.
College Events
We had a lot of education related workshop in the college for all streans. We had on field workshops and events for better experience. Cultural fests are also a part of the college. College days and other national festivals are celebrated on a large scale basis ever year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for civil engineering stream is 8.80 lakh for 4 years which is approximately 2 lakh per year including all the caution money, tuition fees and other miscellaneous fees. I think it to be quite affordable because as per the facilities and education quality provided by the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
A lot of scholarship is provided by the college. ST/SC students avail free eduction from the college and they only have to pay hostel fees. If any student's parental income is less than 4.5 lac per annum, they can get exempted from paying tuition fees if they secure at least 5 GPA in all passed subjects.
Campus Life
A lot of extra curricular activities are provided by the college. Sports events, cultural events, cultural competition, academic competition, general knowledge quizes, etc are part of the curriculum. All round development of the students are promised here. Various clubs and socities have been also set up in the College by seniors.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees structure is about 25,000 per semester that includes hostel fees per semester, caption money, electricity and others. There are 3 beds in each room. A student will be provided with a bed, a table and chair and a cupboard by the hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors in my college are very supportive. I met them in one of the workshops and they were quite helpful. They helped me a lot in understanding the college environment and other issues through thick and thin of college days.
Admission
I got into the college after giving my JEE MAINS/ADVANCED examination. And according to the rank I got, I was placed here for civil in IIT Palakkad. I chose this stream of civil out if my own interest and this college because of it's name and reputation.
Faculty
Professors in my stream are highly qualified and educated. They have a lot of knowledge but sometimes fail to interpret them. They are always helpful to the students in whatever problem they have. Since, in my stream we have field work, so we require more of experience and less classroom Knowledge.
