Remarks

This is the premier education institute for engineering in Kerala. The college campus is located in a beautiful and tranquil location with a lake side view. The students here are very smart and talented. Seniors are really helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

An engineering degree is difficult it involves many projects and practicals. Exams are semester based. Every single day is hectic. We study linear algebra, probability distribution, vectors. The course curriculum is very structured here.

Placement Experience

Yes, the college provides an internship as well as placement. We get campus placement in the final semester. Placement cell works very efficiently and the members in the placement cell are very cooperative. previous batches are placed in good companies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fee here is Rs2.11lakhs which can be quite expensive for a lot of students. In the first, you have to pay the admission fee, tuition fee and another fee in total Rs61,000. For the other three years, it is Rs50,000 each year.

Campus Life

We celebrate Onam, Christmas here. Onam is celebrated in our college is a very enjoyable and relaxing event. Christmas is also celebrated with great enthusiasm as it is a Christian institution. We have many cultural societies.

Admission

Aspirants seeking admission to this four year gull time program you should have passed 10+2 in science stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate with mathematics, physics and chemistry. You need to appear and pass KEAM.

All the faculty members of my department are knowledgeable. They are wee trained professionals. Our faculty regularly update their skill set by attending refresher courses. They are student-friendly teachers.

Likes

My experience at lissah has been mixing of challenges. Psychology depart has supportive teachers and classes is good
Campus is peaceful and it’s so greenery there are opportunities to take part in different academics
I also like that the psychology department has its own lab and practical exposure and Lissah is well known for psychology itself

Dislikes

I feel that there could be more programmes activities and opportunities for students to make college life
Location could feel like quiet and it’s not in town area
Those who prefer more active atmosphere I would not recommend here

I chose bsc psychology because I was interested in understanding human behaviour. The curriculum covers different areas of psychology along with subjects such as major psychology minor statistics and physiology then English mdc . Since I am still in my first year I have only experienced the initial part of course

Faculties are good. Most them are very friendly
Class rooms and canteen are also good. Not the best
Fees are very low comparing to other collages

Dislikes

Not giving good placements. Only 1 or 2 good companies good. Others are average
I'm not interested hostel. But my friends in hostel always saying that the food is not good.
Some faculties are not treat all the students equal. Not every only some

Placement Experience:

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

SEEING STCET THROUGH MY VISION

Candidates who have passed 12th examinations with physics, mathematics, and chemistry as their compulsory subjects with an aggregate of 45% are eligible to apply. I Got admission through the KEAM entrance exam conducted by the government of Kerala and the category allotted to me was state merit (SM). So the tuition fees were fixed by the government as INR 5O, OOO per yr and as it was a self-financing college they had many other fesses like special fees, placement training fees, etc. and at the time of admission, we had to pay 1000 Rs as admission fees and caution deposit of INR 10,000 (Refundable) and the 2023 year cutoff was 48567 for KEAM. 50-50 merit and management seats are available and at STCET a class comprised of 60 seats for each branch....Read More

College Life well spent at STCER

The admission process was quite simple. On the day of counselling based on your rank, you will be provided college. Suppose your rank is above 5000 you may have been called for counselling on day 2. Now there is the opportunity of selecting another college. I particularly followed this college since what I have heard from my seniors who used to study in this college is that here placement facilities were really outstanding .plus since I am from the outskirts of Kolkata I could reside anywhere in Khiddderpore where this college is situated.In simple terms, the location of this college is really good. The quite easy transport is also available here. To get CSE over here your rank should be above 6k. In my time anyone below 6k didn't get an opportunity to study over here....Read More
