My pleasant college life

IIT, Pallakad is a very good institution. Though it is new and was started back in 2015 but holds a very good rank among all the IITs. Be it infrastructure, faculty, health assurance, academics or anything, this college has proven to be the best.

The course structure here in my college is quite good. We have theory as well as practical sessions with 2 end semesters and 4 internals each year. The course is designed in keeping student's understandability in mind. Usually, the regular class days are very busy because of frequent classes. Labs are often, almost everyday. Exams are conducted in a very strict manner and is compulsory to pass in all subjects or else the students are considered as failed.

As far as I have heard from the placement cell and authorities and even my seniors, placements are well and good. Top companies come for recruitment like Google, Microsoft, etc. The one who sat in the placement were surely placed. Internships are also offered to 100% students from the College with stipend varying from 10,000-14,000 per month. Many students grabbed a package of approx 10-15 lacs per annum. The lowest package offered was 5-6 lac per annum.

The college celebrates a lot of events and functions in all aspects be it festivals, or a fest, or technical workshop. Science camps was one of the best events that happened here. Other educational workshops like project on metallurgy, central workshop, fire safety trainings, workshop on artificial intelligence and much more was held by the College. College fests, institution days are also celebrated. National events like Independence day, Republic day, etc are also celebrated. All the events take place on a large scale with maximum number of student and faculty participation.

The stream which I have opted for i.e. Computer Science , the fee for that is approximately 8.8 lakh for 4 years which accounts to almost 2 lakh per year which includes tuition fee, caution money, annual fees, one time fees and other miscellaneous fees. I personally find it completely affordable because of the facilities and the quality education provided by the college.

The college has a merit cum means scholarship which provides scholarships to 25% of the students admitted. Also, students whose parental income is less than 4.5 LPA can get free ship of paying tuition fees if they secure minimum 5 GPA in the passed subjects.

The college provides extra curricular activities in a lot of fields. We have sports events every year in the college. There are indoor stadiums and gyms in the campus. A lot of societies are made by the students here in the college like cultural society, environment protection society, etc. No biasism is done with the students irrespective of their gender, race,colour, etc.

The hostel at the college is quite amazing. Each room has 3 beds. You are provided with a bed, a table and chair and a cupboard by the hostel. The hostel fees is also quite reasonable. The per semester fee of hostel rent is 5,400, mess includes 18,000 and other expenses which total up to 28,400 per semester.

When I was in 1st first, a senior of mine who was in the final year helped me a lot to know about the college. He was quite helpful and interactive with me in clearing all of my doubts. He also helped me with my assignments and workshops.

I got into this college via JEE and JEE MAINS/ADVANCED examination. After giving the exam, I was assigned this college according to my percentile and ranking. I decided to go further with this college because of it's name and fame.

The faculty here is highly qualified and quite good. They are all ready to deal with student's issues and questions. Some guest lectureres also attend a few classes at the college. They too provide a lot of information and knowledge.
