An account of life at Jamini Roy College

I loved the course structure. The subjects and topics were really wonderful and interesting! There were some really good pieces from Bengali literature that we had to discuss and I really liked that.

There are no placements as such, given that this isn't really a technical college. Students usually apply for government jobs post graduation or go for higher studies depending upon their persuasion.

the fee structure is feasible, no doubt. It costs around 8,000 rupees for the three-year course, which is very much affordable. Not everyone is affluent in these parts, and the fees being affordable is helpful for education.

There are sports and cultural activities that take place in the college and students usually actively participate. There are other student activities and occassionally tours as well. There is also an annual fest and other events held throughout the year.

I had heard good things about the college from seniors, and I wanted to study B.A. in Bengali, so I decided to apply here. The selection was on the basis of 10+2 marks. They decide on a cut-off and a merit list of students was prepared, in which I was there. So, then I took admission.

The faculty members were very nice and helpful. They helped us with everything, teaching us the course in their unique and interesting ways which imprinted us on forever. They were very understanding, and encouraged discussions.
