Course Curriculum Overview

BCOM, the course that I am doing is something which teaches you about the various nuances of the business world, and that's what the course curriculum focuses on in the college also, giving special attention to finance and accounting

Placement Experience

The placement and internship opportunities are not good, but it being a distant education institution, one can not expect them to be good. One thing the college does is makes you ready for any type of job that you'll want to take in the discipline that you're studying.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible.The total fee for the course amounts to Rs. 19,215 with Rs. 6,405 being the fee of each year. Anyone can afford the fee for the course and there is tremendous value for one's money in the college.

Campus Life

The college is set up as a distant education institute. The main aim that it has is to provide education to people who can't afford to travel for various reasons, and that is a job it does exceptionally well, but there's not many extra curricular activities.

Admission

One has to pass the qualifying exam to get admission in the college.To start off, there's a form that has to filled by applicants. That form can be filled online as well as offline and then there's a test which has to be given.

Faculty

The faculty of college is commendable. The way they teach you each and every subject that too at a distance is quite good. They also provide us with resources needed to complete our studies. The resources are always on time and very helpful.

The review

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester we become eligible for placements and sit for on campus interviews . In mechanical ONGC , IOCL ,JSW , physics wallah , vedanta and for cse and IT there are companies like paypal , microsoft (internship) , increff etc come for on campus placement.

A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google microsoft facebook vedanta have visited and offered an average package of around 10 lpa. Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

The Directorate has proper infrastructure in the form of halls for Personal Contact Programme (PCP), seminar presentation, viva-voce and counseling sessions. Directorate of Distance Education has also established a network of UG Learners Support Centres at Rajouri, Kathua, Udhampur, Bhaderwah, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar to ensure effective academic and administrative support to distance learners. The Directorate offers an opportunity to the P.G. distance learners to enroll as NSS volunteers for their holistic personality development.
