Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is designed by the Medical Council of India. It's quite vast and broad with a lot to learn. The duration is of 5years and 6 months. You have a one-year compulsory internship for the government after which you are allowed to do your own practices or join any hospital. We also have exams on a semester basis. All in all from labs to lectures, it is quite hectic and one needs to work hard.
Placement Experience
One does not need to take any tensions for job when you land in any of the AIIMS. Particularly speaking about AIIMS Nagpur, as it is quite new, we still have to wait for our first batch to graduate. Though, we will have our one year compulsory internship programme.
Fee Structure And Facilities
If you are studying in any government medical college then fees is not your concern. Government pay for all the tuition fees for you. This case is same for AIIMS too. The entire grand total of my fees(5 years) is around 7K Rs. which is negligible compared to private medical colleges.
Campus Life
We doctors also do a lot of other extra-curricular activities. We believe that a great physical body leads to a great mind, so we are quite engaged in sports activities. We also celebrate fests and festivals in our campus. We host fresher's party and hallowen night which are simply amazing.
Admission
There are a total of 13 AIIMS in-country and you can already guess how tough it is to get into any one of them. Earlier, I appeared in the AIIMS MMBS entrance exam and managed to crack it(after 2 years of hard work) and then went through the entire counseling process. But, from 2020, admission to AIIMS will also happen via NEET as they tried to combine all entrance tests for medical college into one single entrance exam.
Faculty
Faculty are best of best with senior doctors with years of experience and medical expertise. They are quite strict and serious, after all in medical field, discipline and constant attention is very important. They are very thorough with their demonstration and on-point.
