AIIMS Nagpur review by a 2nd year mbbs student

The course of MBBS is so vast , so we have to study almost daily and there is exams on monthly basis (practical') known as ward leaving exams , also the exams is type of difficult even after studying so yes u have to work hard , kind of sleepless nights during exam . And overall in a year 4 theory exams are there - 1st internals, 2nd internals, pre proffs and proffs . They can reduce the frequency of exams

We have to do internship in our own college since OPD is here only . It includes 7-8 hours job along with weekly to monthly subject change and exposure - MEDICINE ,Surgery , ortho, radio , dermat all postings are there . The salary for interns is around 30k

The fee structure is around 5800- which includes hostel fees , teaching fees , library fees all for 5 years . Mess fees are not included - the monthly mess fees is around 4300 . So this fees are easily afford and by anyone . Scholarship programs for SC and ST students.. If u are taking marrow which is a tution it's fees is 60000 but u don't have to take it . Well we are future doctors so yes we will get internship salaries around 30000 in AIIMS Nagpur and obviously a good job after MBBS

Yes it's AIIMS so there are students of around every states so every festival is celebrated and also there is annual fest - called as HALLUCIA . The feat is almost of 5 days which involves all the sports events and drama and dance events. And at Night celebrities and DJ is there . Recently Mohit Chauhan was there in the event hallucia , it's held in around September to October . There is groups and clubs for every field - sports , drama ,music and also instruments are there and proper place is provided . We have a large auditorium in which movies screenings are also done. Sports and extracurricular activities are brilliantly developed we have a cricket ground , football ground ,volleyball ground , badminton court and gym all at 5800 fees .

Room is a little small but we have our personal room with bathroom so it is overall good . Room includes bed, wardrobe , study table , chair and we can modify our rooms except AC . Meal quality is good. 4 times meals are provided per day - breakfast, lunch , snacks and dinner . In breakfast there is eggs , bread butter , milk and tea on daily basis and menu changes daily which includes either idli,poha , vada sambhar , dhosa etc . In lunch dinner we get paneer and chicken -3 times per week . In snacks there is samosa or dabeli or sandwich along with tea .

Yes admission occurs by NEET exam . The cutoff for AIIMS is usually higher because of its education , faculties , campus and low cost . The difficulty is way higher - u have to study for 2 years and have to get a rank under 700-800 if u are of general category for AIIMS Nagpur . And for SC students the rank is around 15000. The admission process is little time taking since there is medical examination for every students and various forms .

Yes they are proper doctors and individual specialist in their respective fields , in OPD they provide adequate patient exposure and their cases and we can interact with them daily , to some facilulties we can have proper chat on monthly basis (they are type of guardian provided to us with whom we can talk about our personal life )
