Awadh Girls' Degree college provides quality education to girls and very low cost and therefore ensures education to even the less privileged women. Further, the college's commitment towards extracurricular activities allows it to be a cultural hub.
Course Curriculum Overview
In BA you have to choose a subject combination from three approved subject combinations. These are BA 1, BA 2, BA 3. Students could choose one between the choices provided, which were, Psychology or Education, Psychology or Education, Anthropology or Political Science, History or Geography, Hindi or English along with Economics and Physical Education.As such, we had some control over our education. Examinations were subjective. As history student, I particularly liked the historical journeys.
Placement Experience
There are some placement opportunities in the commerce section of the college, who do get placements in plenty. However, the placements in in BA are scarce as till recently the college just provided graduation courses.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is extremely affordable and allows even those who are not economically strong, to get quality education. The total fees for a BA programme is ?18,758 which is very affordable given the annual fee.
Campus Life
The college fosters extra curricular activities and encourages students to take part in extra curricular activities. There are a total of 12 clubs in the college which allow the participation in various extra curricular activities. The most popular of the college's fest is annual cultural fest called Nazran-e-Avadh.
Admission
Admission is based on merit list based on the intermediate examination. Following inclusion in the merit list, I was invited for an interview where selectors asked me questions about my course and myself. Following the interview I was selected based on my performance.
Faculty
The faculty is experienced and professional and teaches us with compassion. Their teaching style focuses, on learning instead of cramming. The teachers provide us with learning opportunities and answered every query that we had.
