Remarks
As VIT ranks among the top universities for engineering, it was a very good decision for me to join the college. The campus is green and safe for All the students. The rules are strict and are carefully followed. The classrooms are spacious, well ventilated, and well designed. I was enrolled back in July 2018. The faculties are very knowledgeable and experienced. Most of them help you out with all the doubts and problems you face. The campus area is away from the city, causing a little trouble moving in and out but it's a peaceful area. There are many restaurants right outside the college, grocery stores, book stores, and a lot more. There are malls at the proximity of 30-45 mins drive from the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty of VIT is very good. They know what they are teaching and they help you out most of the time. The student to teacher ratio is average and you will have to take time out to go meet the faculty and discuss your problem. The exams are every alternate month, which I found difficult at first but as time passed, it seemed pretty normal. It's pretty easy to pass with normal preparation and a good revision.
Placement Experience
There's a whole lot of on and off-campus placements going on. The largest packages can go up to 17+L and it's usually 3-4L on an AVG.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various categories you get a seat in depending on your rank, branch, campus location, and availability of seats. For rank holders in VITEEE, there are scholarships. Along with that, there are student exchange programs for students who wish to enroll. There's a decent job opportunity in the VIT campus placements and it's a very fair method as it's centralized.
Campus Life
The campus life is amazing. The people in and around the campus are friendly. You might find the years in the hostel the best of your life. There's a lot of scope for sports and fitness in the campus. With multiple courts and gyms, you can exercise regularly. There's an abundance of groups and clubs starting from literature clubs to formula racing groups. The 3 floors of the library are stacked with books and resources that you can use for free. The biggest fest, Vibrance is a must go at least once. There's Rivera in the Vellore campus. Apart from that, the cultural fests are beautifully celebrated in the campus.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms range from 2 bedrooms to 6 bedrooms. There's an option of AC and non AC that depends on the rank in the college exams. The rooms are decent and the bedding arrangements are good. The mess food is healthy and fairly good. There are many good apartments near VIT that you might want to stay at.
