Remarks
It is a very well known college in Kolkata, also situated in the heart of the city, very easy to reach. The college has good infrastructure and good staff. The admission process is online and the dates for form submission starts in May/June of every year. I prefer this college over others because I took the commerce stream for my high school and it allows me to take BSc economics Hons despite being a commerce stream student in high school.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because I wanted to learn economics thoroughly. Our department has a good number of faculty and every student can get their doubt cleared if the student approaches the teacher. The majority of the faculty members have a Ph.D. while some with a master's degree at minimum. The teaching method is quite good too. They have projectors and stuff to provide a smart class to students The exams are taken frequently to evaluate what the student is learning.
Placement Experience
I am a student of 1st year so I don't know about placement stuff as much. But as far as I have seen my seniors the college provides a decent placement program for the students to opt.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students usually see around 5-10% fee hike every year as the costs to run institution keeps on increasing. But it is not that affordable to everyone as compared to govt. Colleges
Campus Life
The annual function is named "UMANG" and is one of the more popular annual functions in the city. It is mainly conducted in December. There are a lot of books in the library for the student to take knowledge from along with daily newspapers too. There is a sports turf in the middle of the campus and besides that, there's a game arena to take part in various sports activities.
