Remarks

It will say a very good medical college with high standard academics and very beautiful campus almost most beautiful in our country.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is well in accordance with AIIMS Delhi guidelines. It is very professionally made and helped in not only acquiring good clinical skills but also helped us crack PG entrance exam quite easily. They post us in govt hospital Rishikesh (SPS) also so that we can learn how a PHC, CHC works. From ground level basics to hifi superspeciality knowledge everything is so easily available just with a bit of curiosity.

Placement Experience

5

There is no placement in medical colleges. Our internship was in our college only and one local govt hospital. The average number of students which get selected every year will be around 60-70 out of 100 batch which is very good. Almost everyone gets their job either in AIIMS Rishikesh only or elsewhere. Institute do help us in cracking entrance exam for PG by providing us MCQ based questions.

College Events

4.5

Pyrexia is one of the biggest fest of northern medical colleges conducted by Aiims Rishikesh. Also there are various regular events held by group of students organised as National Medicos Organisation. Student welfare body conducts sports and cultural events round the year so that students are engaged in one or other activities. Besides that there is regular celebration of all festivals where all students and faculty join each other in celebration.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is minimal 5300 for whole course except examination fees which is 500 per subject seperately submitted before each professional exams. No other extra fees is required to be submitted for admission. The fee is also metioned in prospectus of AIIMS. It can be deposited by online banking or offline directly at time of counseling only but examination fees is submitted online only before exams. Besides that few courses necessary for our profession if conducted by our college seperately requires some fees that is almost around 5000 of all 5 years. Almost average of 250Rs are submitted for manual of each subjects provided by college only. We have 19 subjects in total of which around 10 have manuals.

Fees and Financial Aid

No there is no scholarship provided by college and fees is minimal but students do avail scholarships from CBSE and IOCL.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes hostel is necessary if u want to study in AIIMS Rishikesh. They are on seperate basis so you dont have to share. There are plenty of hostel rooms so till date no one is asked to stay outside in PGs. The hostel rooms are very good and newly built. All the furniture is of good quality including mattress provided ny them. Rooms are well ventilated with big windows. The washrooms are big and well maintained by AIIMS staff. Also there are badminton courts inside hostel and seperate common reading room for those who want to read. Greenery around hostel make them really beautiful. Each hostel is provided with 2 lifts which function 24*7. Electricity is provided 24*7 so no need of emergency lights. There are no ACs but students can arrange coolers. Use of iron and blower and induction are allowed but in seperate socket provided in each room.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes I myself being a alumni is connected to other alumnees and help our juniors not only when they are in college but also after they pass out. One of my senior guided me quite well during whole process of PG entrance preparation.

Admission

I gave entrance exam seperately conducted for AIIMS and AIIMS like institutions. The exam was not at all easy and very conceptual. After I got all India 436 rank I was called for offline counseling in AIIMS Delhi. My first choice was AIIMS Delhi only which got filled very early so I chose AIIMS Rishikesh which was second choice. Rishikesh was my second choice not first because it was no where in comparison to AIIMS Delhi but Rishikesh being a holy and mountain place I kept it above other AIIMS like institutions. After depositing fees on day of counseling students who opted for AIIMS Rishikesh were called there for medical examination and joining.

Faculty

4.5

When I got admitted there were about 30 faculty members but by the time I passed out the number reached almost 250 plus. Most of them were young except professors which are bound to be above 35 or 40. Almost all of them were from well renowned medical institutions including AIIMS Delhi and PGIMER Chandigarh and had good command of their subjects. It was always fun and healthy to get educated by them. Many of them have so many publications in well ranked journals(pubmed indexed).

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course from this college due to its hospital. It is one of the best hospitals in uttrakhand. MBBS itself carry an important meaning in once life if they have decided to be a doctor. MBBS teachings here is only done to keep you ready for the real worlds. Case discussions are a regular thing here. Total there are 19 subjects that need to be studied within 4.5 years. Few subjects like PSM, AETCOM module should be scrapped completely. They only waste your time as maximum contents they cover are covered in other subjects and few left could be covered separately. It goes on for 3 years with unnecessary postings and practical where you discuss house dimensions, nutrition, etc.

-Specific aspects is the pattern of exams, that was MCQs pattern and now it has been changed to 50% MCQs and 50% theory. -Curriculum is prepared in the view of clinical knowledge, there are seminars and other group discussion is also added in curriculum apart from classes - The teaching methods should be changed from PPT to ppt + black board, because it's very boring to stare on ppt for an hour - we have to pass 4 exams in one year Mid terminal exam in the end of 3rd month of academic year End terminal exam in the end of 6th month of academic year And two professional exams at the end of the academic year Exams are not difficult, the difficulty level is moderate

All students are provided the pay decided by the government. 100% of students qualifying MBBS are getting placements.
