Remarks

Top university in india. Good facility. But students should not solely depend on the lecture notes, should learn by themselves.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Yes. We had internships and field oriented activities during the college period. I worked in lot of organisations to gain on field experience. We also had lot of guest lectures from the industry to provide an understanding how media works and to gather lot more knowledge. we even travelled to other cities to do our final projects

Placement Experience

5

Media industry being a field with limited number of staff. They didn’t hire in bulk. But some of them got hired in BBC, and also into the design and e-commerce at IT companies. IT companies hire in bulk at Anna university

College Events

4.5

Lots of events take place at Anna university. Tecofest, krukshetra- big names in the industry attend the event. The media dept organises gateway which is solely oriented for media. People from media (all the big names) attend the industry and provide in-depth knownledge to the student.

Fee Structure And Facilities

You don’t have to provide any additional fees. The course fees is transparent. No hidden costs for the course. It’s self aided course in Anna university. Being a government college, the fees is very transparent. When I studied the payment was done in bank. I think online payment would be available now.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I did not apply for loan or scholarship. I didn’t avail any it. Some of my classmates did Avail.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is beautiful. Big playground if you want to play cricket, football or basketball. Lot of cultural societies in the university to enjoy and learn. The gender ratio is equal, students from all religion are part of the university. Lot of international students do study at CEG.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. Seniors at the university were very helpful in providing contacts at the media industry for internships and after college placement.

Admission

I had to go through the caste process only. Since it was Top university in india and I wanted to do media studies. I decided to give it a shot since I wanted to follow my passion than do general BCom or BA or BSc. This course was five years and it was direct masters after 12th. It’s like dual degree. Which is a great advantage.

Faculty

4.5

All the lectures had prior on field experience. Most of them are 35+ old professors, some of them were phd students also. Since I was in media industry most of the faculty were from newspapers, television industry. Around 10-15 staff are part of the electronic media at Anna university.

Placement Experience:

My course is a five year course, so it had around 9 to 10 semesters as the first year had no semester. It was a non-semester. So first year had only one semester exam followed by all the other semesters other years at two semesters. From fifth year, students are eligible for campus placements During Covid time, our campus, Placement happened so companies visited are Shlok labs, some assignment writing company which is already closed now and some other start-ups which are not very famous and offer made us around 10,000 per month Highest package received is around 3.5,00,000 per year percentage of students getting Placement is very less only 30 to 40 percentage not even that much. I can say if we apply any companies directly, we will be placed but not through college and especially this course, but other courses are having very good opportunities. As this course recruiters will say it is over qualified.
