Remarks

My college is established in 2005. Though it's a new college in terms of experience, the faculties and doctors here, are well qualified, very knowledgeable and highly student-friendly. There are good scopes of getting higher ranks in all India Examinations from this college. The infrastructure is not up to date in various aspects until now. The college authority is trying its level best to introduce the latest technologies in our college. The admission process is TRIPURA BOARD Medical Entrance Examination, based on merit. It is held every year in the month of March - April. I preferred this college because it is not far away from my house. Also its teaching faculties are very good, compared to the other medical college in our state.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course because it gives me an opportunity to serve humanity and return my favour to my country. There are at least 15-20 faculties per subject, for every 100-125 students. The teachers are well educated, highly skilled and experienced, and very student-friendly. The teaching method is either chalk and duster, or PowerPoint or smart class as and when required. After completing of any topic, part completion exams are held, 2-3 times a month, for each subject. Semester exams are being conducted every 5-6 months and professional exams at the end of the session. The question paper was moderately difficult, and it takes a lot of effort to pass in the exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

About 100 students are getting admission every year in MBBS course. Our batch 2014-15 is the 10th batch of this college. And among 100 students of our batch, 90 students passed out in the final year in one go and all of them have successfully completed their internship duties by March 2020. The students become eligible for campus placements after the 3rd year. Almost 60-70% of students get placements every year from our college. I have completed my MBBS in 2019 and internship in 2020. Now I am working as a junior resident in NIL RATAN SARKAR MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL, KOLKATA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees in this college are a bit higher than any other government college in the country. In fact, it has the highest admission fees for any government medical college across the country. The fees are Rs 99000 in the 1st year and Rs 59500 for the subsequent academic years. Hostel fees are separate and amounting Rs 1500 per month. Various scholarships are available to the students, merit wise academic wise. After completing my MBBS, I got a job in a government medical college in Kolkata as a resident Junior doctor.

Campus Life

5

There are 5 big lecture halls in our college, dedicated to 9 semesters of the college curriculum. Alongside there is a library having recent and old collections of textbooks, Indian and foreign journals. WiFi facility is available on the college campus. The library has 20 computers with broadband connections for internet facilities of students and other faculty members. There is a playground for football, cricket, and a badminton court, a baseball court and a gymnasium. The annual fest is held every year in the month of March for a period of 7 days which includes sports, cultural events, literature events and many more things. One Facebook page AGMC Confessions is live on Facebook, which is run by the students of our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are separate hostels for boys, girls and interns. All essential services are available in the hostel. Quality of food in the mess is pretty good, the menu keeps on changing almost daily, with a grand feast taking place on a particular day every week. 2 canteens are there for refreshments. I live in a single room. There is a bed, a table, a chair, an attached bathroom, electricity facilties are available throughout the day. WiFi facilities are also available in the hostels.

Interview Experience

4

No group discussions were there, but interviews were taken and physical examination or full body checkup used to be done at the time of admission, both for males and females. The interview questions were based on general knowledge mostly, and not related to the medical course. No written questionnaire was there to test the calibre of the students.

MBBS gives a hope of job security first, also the fee structure is bit less as compared to the other private medical colleges in India, there is a strong hospital setup along with our college gives us varied experiences in learning medicine, improvement should be made in the field of extracurricular activities which is bit less there , there are 3 exams in a year and along with a university exam afterall. Placement Experience:

We are placed in the hospital during the internship on how good knowledge we have based on giving good treatment to the patients. The salary, in the beginning, is good and as the experience increases, we can even open our clinic or even hospital or work privately too. Placement in many renowned hospitals is quite so easy thought AGMC college and they give much money to work as a doctor. Like private Institute provide freshers 30-40k per month salary and govt are giving little bit low salary per month. But after 1year this salary increase.

As mentioned above, this is the kind of college you should choose with only with the thought of getting a MBBS degree. There's no provision any other way to entertain you. One can play sports in the field which is not at all maintained. Everything apart from Studies and clinics is below standards but that's what you're here for, right.
