Remarks
I'm told management has improved after by batch left. I hope that is the case now. Overall this was a college which was good at one point but later due to engineering colleges coming up everywhere and Lourdes being very far away, the quality of students joining the course decreased.
Course Curriculum Overview
I do not know if things have changed since 2016 but when I was there, it was honestly a very badly planned and grade oriented course. No one wants to talk about practical side of things. Most of my classmates ended up in IT and very few of them pursued higher studies. It does have a few good teachers who motivate you in thr right way. That's what kept my passion storng.
Placement Experience
I don't know about intership options. But a few students got placed. Honestly, the nunbers were laughable.
College Events
The annual day, onam, Christmas and the 3rd year feild trip we all went to with the excuse of "Industrial visit". The Annual day was low budget but the whole thing was arranged well by the students. The college did not allow third party funding which greatly reduced the money available for the functions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is pretty standard, I would say it's about the same as most other Engineering colleges in the state. In terms of people who did really bad in their entrance exam and 12th grade board exams, there is the option to get admission by donation. I'm not sure how much but I know it's an option.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides options to get a loan for the college fees fell nearby banks. This specially comes ok handy for those with low savings. The documents needed for this will be explained when you apply for it.
Campus Life
My class had an almost 50/50 gender ratio with students from various economic and social backgrounds. The campus does have options for sports and other activities but it's not well managed. I wouldn't say this is a Christian College in the sense that majority of students are still Hindus and muslims. It's run by the Catholic Church but they're just a management. There was never a religious agenda followed on th college. Very secular atmosphere. You'll see an occasional statue or potrate here and there. But not really an issue. No one is forcing you to do anything with them.
Hostel Facilities
No. But I really wish I did. The hostel facilities at this college are great. I did briefly get a chance to stay at the hostel for about a month during my last semester exams. The food at the hostel is great and it's managed very well.
Alumni/Alumna
During my time at the college, I never really felt any strong alumini network in place. Those who had contact with alumini were usually through personal contacts.
Admission
It was based on my score for Kerala State engineering entrance exam. I had to apply with my rank at the time. I had a rank of 16350 which was good enough to get me the admission eventhough not on merit. Surprisingly I had one of the highest ranks on my class. Honestly, I don't think rank matters too much anyway.
Faculty
Very few truly passionate teachers. Most of them are in it for the money. I still remember my HOD at the time forcing me to do my final year project with a third party agency so that I don't end up spending time on it and concentrate on by-hearting the our syllabus topics.
