My Review

College needs to put proper efforts in choosing the faculty. Appropriate people for the roles are necessary. People are promoted with influence, connections and power.

The course curriculum is improper without proper structure. It hinders constructive learning and is obsolete. The revisions made to the curriculum are in terms of quantity, but not the subjects themselves. Majority of the skills that the companies ask for are gained through self learning outside the college. The things being taught are mostly irrelevant. One has to take extra training to catch up to the current trends in technology.

TCS, infosys and some other companies do mass recruitment every year. Some core companies also visit our college, but it is rare. Institute does give us some training for placement. But the are focused on companies like tcs and infosys. Not companies in general. college does not help in getting internships. Students get them with the help of their personal contacts.

All the branches conduct their own events during the summer i. e even semester. We also have institute level events like Davana (Cultural fest), Ethnic day and many more depending on the student coordinators of that particular year. Davana itself consists of many small events that offers everyone to showcase their talent.

The fee that we are supposed to pay is 54000. But the college charges extra 30000 as donation/development fee. The fees is far too much for what the college has to offer. We have to purchase books and records separately and they are not included. They charge for everything which is not justified at all for what they offer in return.

I did not get any scholarship of any kind as I have joined the college through CET score and also because I belong to general category with no special privileges.

Gender ratio is pretty good and the college hosts a diverse range of pupils. Extra curricular activities done are also pretty good. Many competitions are also conducted in different branches regularly. But the events are moderated by the lecturers and they deny any new competitions to be organized.

The Alumni network is not as helpful as in other colleges. They themselves are struggling to get through in the industry.

I got my admission through CET exam. I got a rank of 8k and was eligible to opt any course offered by the college. The CET seat allotment system helps students get seats in their preferred college according to their Rank. I choose this institute as it was in my home city and parents didn't allow me to go outside. Once the CET allots the seats, students are required to get admitted to the college by paying the CET fees plus the college development fee if any.

Each course in a subject gets 55 hours of teaching in 4 months. Although the lectures have phd's, it doesn't really matter if they can't convey the concepts clearly. Most of the faculty find adopting new technology and new methods of teaching difficult, which puts more pressure on the students.
