Engineering college review

The campus is strictly ragging free and no political parties are promoted. The office staffs were really appreciateable. The college management can provide more job opportunities by including campus placement offers.

As btech syllabus is very tough compared to other degree courses, it's necessary to ensure the facilities provided in colleges for academics including lab facilities and campus recruitment offers. Also the industrial visit and internships provided from the college must be adequate. It'll improve the practical knowledge, which would be very helpful in securing campus placements.

The placement provided from the college for mechanical engineering students is very poor during my academic year. This might improved after KTU launching, since internships is mandatory for KTU students. Though the colleges are providing internships and industrial visits, the students must also ensure the quality ( practical knowledge) you got from these colleges. Despite marks scored, practical knowledge is more beneficial in securing a good position.

Astra fest ( both cultural and technical fest) is conducted in every year. Inter-college and inter-branch level competitions is conducted. Celebrities like Vineeth Sreenivasan, Sachin Warrier, Jonita Gandhi, RJ Neel etc, made musical shows during Cultural fest.

The fee structure for merit students is based AICTE rules. There will be management seats also. For every top students in each branch, AICTE is providing FEE WAIVER SCHOLARSHIP (which includes zero tuition fees). The transportation fees (college bus fare) is affordable. Also KSRTC bus stand and Railway station is nearby ( within 2kms).

I got FEE WAIVER SCHOLARSHIP from AICTE. In order to get the scholarship, we have to upload our higher secondary marks (PCM). The one who get the highest marks in each branch will get scholarship.

ROBOTRYST - Robo fest, a workshop conducted by IITs in every year and it's a two day program. A participation certificate is given for all participants. Inter-college football and cricket competitions is also conducted. Our college won several prizes for these competitions. No political party is promoted inside the campus.

No, I didn't opt for hostel. Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls inside the campus. Hostel rooms are of sharing basis ( for two - three persons). Food is providing from the canteen for students. Common toilet and washing facilities is available.

Our senior students are really helpful and cooperating in all aspects. And we can seek their help anytime. Moreover the campus is strictly ragging free.

I got admission to this college on the basis of my KEAM rank and plus two percentage. I got a score of 296, and after normalization with plus two marks, I got 10111 rank in KEAM examination. I got full marks for mathematics and 95% for chemistry and 90% for physics in higher secondary examination, hence I was selected for Fee waiver scholarship (AICTE) and thus I didn't need to pay tuition fees except Lab fees and bus fees.

Each department of the college provides a senior HOD, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Workshop supervisors ( or lab supervisors), lab assistants etc. The senior lecturers will be having Masters degree in the subject and experiences as well. From top to bottom of the hierarchy, the experience and education qualification will be lesser compared to the previous level. The qualifications of faculties ranges from Masters degree, Bachelors degree, Diploma and ITI.
