Lead by example, is i would say. The college management used to lead all of us and ensured before imposing any rules or regulations, they too are also part of such rules.

Indeed the college is equipped with very nice competitive faculty, labs, and infrastructure. The courses were designed to cater the modern needs of industry. As any other college, 2 semesters were in the academic year. We used to have multiple internals and preparatory exams befor ethe mail exams to make sure, the college and individual results are good.

1998 was not an era of placements and hence not much, but as years passed on, BIET college started to invite many companies, from various sectors, such as IT, to manufacturing, and as a students we had an opportunity to perform and grab the offer letters. As a preparation, even college used to conduct mock interviews, soft skills, personality building sessions to make sure each one cracks the opportunity he/she gets.

Davangere is considered as educational center in Karnataka. Apart from thesis, paper presentation, college also used to conduct annual day function, wherein colleges form surrounding districts also participated and presented their papers, technical thesis. Apart from technical together, we also used to have yearly annual day function, and elections conducted

1998 was the first batch of VTU - Visvewariah Technological university, and fees were in sync with all across Karnataka. Once a student cracks the CET exams, based on his ranking received, he would be invited to select the seat. and post his selection, he/she had to approach college with fee of 5590.00 INR and get admitted in college.

Like any other college, BIET too had good industrial contacts. Many companies used to come for placements and even for scholarships. Since i have not taken benefit form any such programs, would not be right candidate to answer this question.

A very healthy proportion used to be maintained, during the first year when all engineers are supposed to study all subjects, and then from next year, specific to the streams selected. Each department has well equipped laboratory, catering the latest needs of electronics, mechatronics, robotics, and preparing for science papers presentations.

No, since my home was 14 km away from college, we used to daily commute college in bus. So commenting om the hostel part would not be so realistic. But as friends used to stay in hostels and rooms near to college, we used to pay visits. There are various PG in and around the college area, and average monthly charges is 5000 with food.

BIET slowly started developing a very good, strong, and wide alumni network. most of our seniors are settled all across globe and all very much in contact to make sure BIET college is paramount in education and preparing next generation engineers.

In 1998, post passing my 12 standard exams, appeared for CET and got a ranking to select engineering. Since Davangere is near to home town, and looking at financial conditions, no option to go out of city, and hence selected BIET college and with the raking, i had mechanical engineering course.

BIET college had one of the best faculty of that time, way back in 1998 when i entered for engineering. The college was very serious about its classes, and we had 45 min period. Leading from front we had a very qualified PHD, who was Mechanical Engineering Head of Department and then came all professor and lecturers with good amount of experience and all were in mid 30 to 40 and frequency well synced.
