Remarks

The college is really good and you should go for it if you are a study freak and you want to save your time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum and exam structure are very relevant and it is also valid for the various government exams which are to be given only after completing graduation or in the last year the exam structure is very convenient where you have to give the exams yearly and the promotion to the next year is based upon that.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement of college depends upon the skillset student has achieved but yes it does pay a very good role as the reputation of the college is good and as it is a government college poor really do recommend it

College Events

4

There are several numbers of events which take place during the year but since I have not participated in one of these so I am not sure with the information so won't share much of it but one who is really interested can take parts in the several societies of the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is really feasible and every other person can afford it as it is as cheap as 3500 a year so the total cost for the 3 years graduation would be around 10500 only which also offers a lot with this amount of money and also the study material is provided with the total cost and the only extra cost which has to be spent on the course is 750rs per year which is to be paid during the exam as the exam fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for any scholarship or education loan as it was not really required and if one wants to opt for it would be really easy as loan for government colleges is much easier than for private colleges and also one can avail for local scholarships as the course fee is as low as 10500 and many individuals can offer this amount of scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

There is no campus life really as it is an open university and I have not experienced it but yes you can visit the campus for classes on weekend and it may seem to be good for an individual as it offers so much there are various societies I haven't been into one of them so I don't know much about it

Hostel Facilities

3

I have certainly not opted for hostel and don't think that they really offer hostel as it is an open college and daily travelling is not required so one can do distance learning and if someone wants one can opt for the local hostels nearby as there are many of them.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes you can get into touch with alumni network but you have to do it personally as the college does not offer any of it

Admission

I went through the procedure online after completing my 12th it was a pretty easy procedure you just have to go through the instruction given on their website and fill the registration form without any extra cost and then have to a very minimal amount of fees which is for the course BTS is 3500 so that everyone could afford it.

Faculty

3.5

The course consists of 5 subjects which seems to be really interested in me at least they provide the study material at your doorstep and its fee is included in the overall fees per year mentioned above and they also provide lectures on weekend I.e. Saturday and Sunday and this new initiative has also been taken due to the global pandemic which will now offer online videos to make the course better and help students to achieve good in the academic.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
