Argha Kundu's Review On North-Eastern Hill University - [NEHU], Shillong

First and foremost is that, NEHU is a central University, providing all the facilities that are available in any other central universities, which undoubtedly are much better than private colleges. Secondly, the soothing climate and scenario of Shillong pretty much increases your urge to study, as studying in such an enhanced environment is a bliss. As my course is B.Tech(ECE), the professors of our School Of Technology are really very good and much qualified. It was my wish to pursue Electronics Engineering after 12th, and I got my dream stream in NEHU.

Every year regulation was changed for syllabus. Every year students was exposed to 1-2 industrial areas was visted with faculty. Faculty was very friendly with students. JNMR sir was used to teach very practical way and out of subject because to encourage students to gain more knowledge about the subject.

TCS, Tech Machindra, Ashokaleyland, Allsec, Wipro, Microsoft, IBM, Accenture companies are visited in our campus. Placement process can be held like first online exam will be written. Qualified students can be sent for interview. In interview 3 rounds are conducted. 1st round Group disscusion, 2nd round HR, 3rd round personal interview.

Technical events like gora science, engineering day these for students to know more knowledge about the project which they present.Cultural events like freshers party & farewell party for refreshing minds of students. Management events are college anniversary for encourage students for their career. For giving prizes of their academic performance in studies & sports.

In college only Scholarship is provided for poor students & reservation quota. College annual fee is reduced for students who are in scholarship category. Other than scholarship no loan is provided.

Campus Infrasturcture, well, doesn't matter how much I say, it will still be less. So, its better, if possible for you, then you can visit our campus, or get campus tour videos on YT. There are 8 gates, well equipped with indoor and outdoor stadiums, canteens, hostels for boys and girls, food cafe, departmental store, and many more. The campus provides us with wifi facilities in departments. Even hostels have wifi connections too. The labs are well furnished, with lab assistants of very well behaviour. Last but not the least, NEHU has got a central library which was established along with it in 1973. It is truly a wonderful library.

Hostel facilities are truly good. In most hostels, a room is shared by three people(other than the Hostels for International Students). In each hostel, there is Wifi facility and provision of food through clean mess service. Hostel availing is very easy for boys during admission. For girls, getting hostel might be a bit difficult, as it takes some time for complete hostel allotment, but it us madd sure everyone gets hostel facility as soon as the academic session starts.
