Remarks

The college has a good reputation and is one of the respected institutions of the country and being in a different city from my hometown provides me more enriching experience and allows me to meet new people all belonging from diverse backgrounds

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is pretty recent. The industrial exposure is decent. Mostly all the faculty members are phds in their respective fields. We havve industrial visits for the whole batch in the second year of the course

DECENT MULTIPLE COMPANIES RANGING FROM ZOMATO SWIGGY KPMG FOODPANDA PWC PROVIDE PLACEMENTS TO STUDENTS IN FIELDS OF ACCOUNTS AND FINANCE MARKETING AND HUMAN RESOURCES ALONG WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS THERE ARE ALUMNUS WHO HAVE STARTED THEIR OWN VENTURES

Every year our college hosts the city's biggest college fest which is five day long and has all kinds of events and we witness a foot fall of 1,50,000-2,00,000 people and multiple artists perform in the fest apart from this a ted talk also hosted annually in the college

Campus Life

The library has a variety of books catering to the needs of students. Their is a wi-fi connection throughout the campus and the computer labs are pretty decently equipped with a high speed lan network and their are multiple systems to work on

Likes

The faculty members are highly qualified, approachable, and always willing to help with academic or research projects.
The campus infrastructure is excellent, featuring modern labs, a well-stocked library, and great sports facilities.
Placement opportunities are robust, with many top-tier companies visiting the campus for recruitment every year.

Dislikes

The hostel mess food lacks variety and quality, which is a frequent concern among resident students.
The placement department needs improvement as more core internship and job opportunities could be provided for undergraduate finance and BMS students
There is a lack of student-accessible Wi-Fi facilities across the campus premises, which makes online research difficult during college hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies) course primarily due to its highly comprehensive coverage of core business aspects specially human resources. The curriculum is well-structured to offer a deep understanding of corporate administration and strategic management, which strongly influenced my decision to enroll. Regarding the examination structure, semester exams are conducted systematically every six months, with internal assessments, assignments, and class presentations spread across the term. The timing is generally manageable, and the difficulty level ranges from moderate to high, effectively testing a student's analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities rather than just memory recall.

Likes

The faculty is extremely experienced and provides valuable industry perspective.
The campus is modern and equipped with smart classrooms, media, labs, studios and an excellent library.
The placement cell is very helpful and active, getting students placed with firm.

Dislikes

The hostel is not good so providing variety in food.
sometimes coordination between department can be smoother.

Best College with Loving Memories

Admission:

The admission process is easy in my college. Students do not have to appear for any Entrance examination. For Taking admission in B.M.S course, students should get minimum45% marks and reserved category students should get 40% marks in Xll Standard.

Symbiosis: a zig zag experience

I chose Symbiosis because it offered International Business which is of my keen interest. When I contacted other colleges and enquired about this course, they said they don't have this course or some said "we're not sure". I mean how can they be not sure of their own curriculum? And I applied only to SYMBIOSIS. Now I'm in my final year and dual specializing in International Business and Marketing. For the admission process, firstly fill the application form and then they'll also conduct a mock test when main entrance exam is around a month away or smtg. And then Symbiosis Entrance EXAM (SET EXAM) happens. After qualifying that,the student is shortlisted to WAT (written assessment test). It's like an essay writing test, you will be given a topic and 20mins of time. Lastly it's the PI (personal interview) and then merit list or not depends on student performance....Read More

SCMS - genius ambition, complicated execution

Admission is through a national level entrance examination called SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test). It was conducted in online-proctored mode due to COVID in 2020. It tests candidates on 4 subjects - Mathematics, General Knowledge, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. The marks for this entrance is 75, followed by a shortlist for the WAT and PI. Qualifying all three rounds ensures admission. Eligibility is passing Class 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks for general candidates and a minimum of 45% marks for reserved category candidate from any recognized board. Application form can be found on the official website of SET - www.set-test.org Application fees is ?1750. The entrance test is in MCQ and is easy to moderate. WAT (Written Ability Test) Round is also computer-based and requires candidates to write about a topic in 30 min.
