Remarks

Near to my city and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College has lot of fame in their academic records as well as in technological innovations. So I chose Btech cse stream in this College to become a successful engineer. As I have lot of interest in computing programs and I want to make something new in computers field.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well the course syllabus is updated and everything is awesome. If I talk about the industrial exposure the my college has conducted many industry tours in Mohali. Faculties in my college are quite good.

Well I don't know about the job opportunities and placements in my college because I am in first year. But I have heard from my seniors that placements in this College is good but it depends upon you how smartworker and talented you are.

My college conduct many relegious events and also conduct youth festival to help students to show their talent to everyone. In extracurricular activities, my college is best. My college conduct many sport activities.

Campus Life

My college has lot of facilities. First of all my college provide lot of facilities for sports and and professor are lenient to everyone. My college has huge WiFi campus and there are not speed issues. My college's library is very large with two sections. One for SC and other for GC.

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
