Remarks
The IIM brand value is a really important factor, which means good reputation of the institute because of quality infrastructure and expert faculties. This indicates good prospects of getting placed, a nicer industry exposure, and overall a more contextually relevant curriculum and teaching methods suited for the real world.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well-designed. It is contextually relevant and well updated and revised regularly. However, at times some subjects fail due to minor miscommunication between the faculties and the office, which makes the curriculum a bit outdated and impractical. But on the whole, the curriculum is good. The institute is committed to providing quality education and the academic rigour is testimony to that. Faculties come from all over India and have good academic experience of teaching at various reputed institutes. All in all, the academic part of the course is great.
Placement Experience
The placements are good. Most reputed companies come to the campus for hiring. For the last 3 years, the placement rate has also been 100%. Packages offered are good, though not as high as those offered at IIM-A/B/C. Top companies like Google, etc are also currently not coming to the campus.
College Events
There are a good number of events being held all year round – hosted by different student-run clubs and the institute itself. The scale varies, with the clubs' events being intra-batch or intra-institute. Larger scale events are open and persons from different parts of the country attend them. The annual fest is a grand celebration, and the biggest among the North Indian management fests. This year we saw the participation of students from major IIMs, DU affiliated colleges, and from the local university and schools as well.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is decent, and still improving. All classrooms have adequate facilities for enabling digital learning smoothly and conveniently. The central library is coming up and the sports complex houses most gym equipment required there. Major sports facilities – soccer, badminton, table tennis, cricket, basketball, etc. – are available. The entire campus is wifi-enabled, excepting the IPM block and their hostels. The labs are also well-furnished.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is decent at best. The dorms are just livable. But that's not really bad considering you visit the dorm just to sleep at night – life at a B-school keeps you busy all along. New hostels are under construction, and are expected to see some modifications in the infra. All rooms have LAN connectivity and are air conditioned. There is adequate ventilation and they aren't really crowded (unless you have a lot of baggage, because the rooms are small (very small) and storage space is quite limited). Also, if you aren't much of an agile person, the bunk beds might be a sore disappointment.
