A central university with some pros and cons

Admission into Dr. Harisingh Gour's university is very easy, you just need to face a very easy entrance exam. Then you go for counseling and get the subjects you want. I attended this college because it is A CENTRAL University. It has a good ambiance, yet the crowd is not so good, people from nearby villages do come to study here. It has a wide range of subjects from Pharmacy to MBA. It has a campus canteen, various shops, and even an Indian Coffee House on its premises. The library of this university is big enough to have a lot of knowledge for those who are book lovers. Sometimes the main professors do not teach and assign their subjects to research scholars which is not at all good.

Teachers are well qualified, yet students are not Most of the students come from a Hindi background and 30% of students in my class knew English. It becomes hard for teachers to teach in both. Exams are very easy and not too difficult to pass. Questions are based on what was taught in exams, yet there are exceptions too. Teaching methods are too boring, they do not provide us with books or materials we have to arrange our own (buy) They do not use the board or the e-learning boards and just keep on speaking which makes classes hectic and boring. Some teachers do use them (most of them don't)

There is No placement in my branch as my subjects are psychology and English literature but BBA MBA MCom students do get placements.

Fees for SC / ST /OBC are too less, You can pay the fees online, and you don't have to stand in long queues to do it. The cost for 1 semester for a general student is 2000 approximately.

This university has many programs going on at various times of the year. Each department has its programs and its entry is open to all. Special functions are held on your Jayanti. The library is full of books and they are easily accessible. You name a book and you will surely find it in the library. Classrooms are equipped with fans and lights and in each department, there is a seminar hall that is equipped with e-learning board and ACs The sports department offers all the sports for students to play including badminton, football, volleyball, cricket, athletics, hockey, chess, table tennis, and so many others.

Entrance exam

Written entrance exam. I appeared for BA and BSc entrance. For the BA exam, all questions were related to history, civics, geography, and economics. For BSc, all questions were related to biology, physics, and chemistry basics. There were 100 questions with no negative markings.
