Remarks
All in all MJCET is an awesome place to do engineering with good faculty, big and green campus. Being in the center of the city students also have enough places to hang out. Only bad thing about it is the fee which the students with low parental income cant afford.
Entrance Preview
The entrance exam I took was Eamcet and scored 8849 rank in 2010. It was my dream to enter MJCET because many of my cousins were alumna of this college and also it is in the center of the city and of-course because it is among the top 50 colleges of India.
Course Curriculum Overview
In first year all the branches had same subjects, i.e, English, math, physics, chemistry, graphics, mechanics and C programming from second year the subjects depend on the branch selected. I was an ECE student and had all the electronic subjects like Analog circuits, Digital Circuits, Analog Communication, Digital Communication, Signals and Systems, Image and signal processing, Mobile Communications. In addition to this there were subjects related to Accounting, Industrial Administration, Environmental Sciences, Disaster Management.
Internships Opportunities
Companies did not approach the college for internship. Instead we students were free to do internships outside the college and the faculty also provided reference for few students to the companies. We had done the internship in ECIL. No stipend was offered nor we had to pay the amount for internship. It was a good experience working for real time projects.
Placement Experience
Many IT and core companies come to college for placements. The companies which had come to campus were, Infosys- 105 students were placed- 3.25lpa package, Wipro- 85 students were placed- 3.0lpa, CSC-3.0lpa, Deloitte- 5lpa, Infotech, Tech Mahindra.
College Events
The technical fest called ADSOPHOS was celebrated every year in the month of Feb. It was a huge event will all sorts of technical and fun events. Robotics was also a part of this and the students participated in national level competitions. There were IEEE paper presentations. Another huge event was E-cell which was entrepreneurship cell and this was a national level competition the 2014 batch won the first prize in the event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
During my graduation the fee was 33k annually and it was feasible but in 2012 the fee structure was revised and the fee is 85k annually now. This seems to be quite expensive and the students with good grades but with low family income cannot afford the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The state minority scholarship is offered to students with the parent annual income less than 2 lakhs. There is also a central merit scholarship offered to students with above 98% in intermediate and above 85% in engineering every year.
Campus Life
The campus life is excellent with all sort of facilities. The workshops, labs were so good with experienced faculty. The competitions like robotics, debates, just a min sessions, presentations were held time to time under proper guidance. There was also anti ragging campaign to prevent the ragging of juniors. Students were part of IEEE, E-Cell, Women in Engineering(WIE) student chapters.
Hostel Facilities
There was no hostel in the college as it is in the heart of the city. There were two canteens- one had non veg food and the other had veg. The food was awesome. The non-veg canteen had noodles, Manchuria, chicken fried rice, ice creams, samosa, juices, chocolates, etc. The non-veg canteen had dosa, idli ,upma and all the meals. The college had few PGs near by with the average rental of 5k.
Alumni/Alumna
The college seniors were also very warm hearted and were always ready to help. Good assistance was provided by seniors by sharing their interview experiences, notes, project guidelines.
Exam Structure
Exams and labs were not so hectic there were 5 units in each subject and 2 internal of 20 marks each were conducted to cover all the 5 units. The lab also had internal exam and an external exam. The final exam was conducted in a another college affiliated to osmania university.
Faculty
The faculty was extremely good and experienced each lecturer had a minimum experience of 5 years and most of them were Phd or undergoing Ph.D The faculty was punctual and cleared our doubts very well. Theory classes were explained clearly and adequate notes were provided. The lab assistants were also experienced and explained the practicals very nicely.
