I qualified JKCET and scored 104 marks my subjects were both medical and non- medical but I did not want to become a doctor later because I can't handle injuries and I am scared of watching people bleeding and thus I was sure I won't be able to become a good doctor so I chose B.E.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is good but still the students enrolled in any of the engineering colleges in Jammu lag behind .The ones in Delhi and other cities because they have more of the practical knowledge but we are made to focus more on the theoretical part also the result of our examinations is declared after 3-4 months of the exams. Because of which we lose the opportunity of getting ourselves enrolled for many other exams after the final year.
Placement Experience
Not at all good and this is true for all the engineering colleges of Jammu so at the en we have to run all around the country for walk in interviews.
College Events
No such events are organized by our college but last year a technical fest was organized. It was good it wasn't that big but yes it was a great start also sometimes some workshops are being organized by the college but they are not always useful. Sometimes we feel that we just wasted our time there.
Fee Structure And Facilities
We have to pay nearly 50,000 per year. It is costly for some people who come from far flung areas but still it is much better than the colleges outside J&K.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes they offer scholarship but only to the Sikh candidates based on their 12 class results. This is because our college is owned by a Sikh Mahant Bachittar Singh Ji so the Sikh students are granted this scholarship and also they comduct a separate test for the Sikh students while we clear JKCET which is common for all.
Exam Structure
Our exam schedule is very tight. We have loads of work to do like assignments, lab files and 3 set of exams within a period of 5 months. But since I enjoy doing paper work so I don't really have much problem.
