College

So far I have had decent experience in my college. Every body is ver helpful and the management is also very good.

As I am just in my first year so there is no question of recruitment. the course curriculum and exam structure is completely relevant, our college follows the structure or is affiliated to WBSU(west bengal state University). we have exams ever six monts which are out semester exams.

In this case I cant help really as this is only my first year and there is no questions of requirement now. but we did have 2-3 career counseling classes.

We do have a lot of events in our collge, in February we had our literary exhibition in which I also participated, and we had our annual sports in December and we had our college function in january. we have events like this in regular intervals which really helps to relax a little bit.

My course fee is around 5000rs for each semester, so that makes it 30000rs for 6 semesters in 3yrs. the college only accepts payments online through card or netbanking. it does not really provide much transparency in case of fee breakdown. I didn't had to give any additional fee or money to get admitted to the college.

No ihavent opted for any scholarship till now but I have heard about some scholarship that the college provides, and I am looking forward to apply for them.

Our collge have more girls than boys, for example in our english honors class we have 170 students among which 140 are girls and 30 are boys. we have students of all religion in our college and every body is also welcomed too. there is no discrimination or racism spotted by me ever in the college.

No I haven't opted for hostels as I live near by, but the college does have hostels separate for both boys and girls. and as much as I have heard or kniwn the fee for hostels is around 2000rs a month and service is also good.

Yes our seniors are helpful too though we dont have much interactions with them as we have classes on different times.

I opted english honors because I love english and want to carry forward my further studies with it. I chose Gobardanga hindu college because its very close to my house and is also one of the oldest colleges present in our city, it also has good faculty. As for admission the steps are pretty normarl, I filled up the college admission form online after passing my higher secondary examination and my name came on the second merit list.

We have usually 2 lectures every day each spanning for 1hr each for our honors subject, and 1 hr everday for our pass subject. the average age of out teacher are between30 to55 or 60 maybe. as I stated earlier our faculty is very good and our teachers are well qualified and very helpful too. our college is also approver by naac.
