Remarks

College is overall a great place for academic performance but when we consider other aspects it lags behind.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Basically our college is under Vishweshwaraiah technological University (vtu) the curriculum is a bit old ( not quite up to date compared to autonomous bodies/College). The college i am studying focus more on academic scores rather than research and development activities. Industrial visits are organised but my branch hod isn't supportive she only needs academic performance.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is pretty average in my branch like about 40 to 50 people get placed out of 120, some internships are being carried in college itself since i am in the 4 th sem i have less idea about this.

College Events

2

Technical events are conducted by all the branches, since Davanagere is a small town the participation is below average, cultural event like Davana is pretty huge and famous in the city. Our college also organise events like marathon to educate the public about ongoing social issues.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since i am a student from against comedk seat my fee is 1,55,000 and i am a general category student hence i won't get any scholarships and stuffs usually we pay in 2 instalments, for the given facilities the amount i pay is quite more. If the student is from a particular caste they get reduced college fee structure and scholarships

Fees and Financial Aid

I cannot apply for a scholarship since i am from general category and the income is above the marginal. The scholarship is usually provided from the government and not college. In order to apply for scholarships a student's parents should have a income less then 2 lakhs per annum

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is quite okish because it lacks places like a well and good canteen. Gender ratio completely depends on the branch we study in, usually in ECE, CSE and ISE more female students are there where as in mechanical and civil engineering there are more male students. Extracurricular activities are below avg, labs are fine and competitions organised are also less compared to others colleges

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes,I hav opted for hostel, hostel is quite old and manageable. Each room is allotted to 3 students. The food quality is okish. The hostel is usually available the seats are sufficient enough. The hostel laks basic facilities like wifi connection and for the fee we pay it can me maintained a lot well.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is quite strong, They are a lot helpful, senior students are friendly and helpful. The alumni's are often invited to speak about their experience in the college which is very inspirational.

Admission

I got a seat in biet against comedk, admission process was pretty simple, providing old marks card and identification documents i got into this college in the year 2018. I opted ECE as its one of the most fundamental requirement for this developing world and its ever green and i have had a lot of interest about tech from the young age.The college promises to provide a great academic strength but lacks social importance.

Faculty

4

There are around 20 teaching and 6-7 non teaching staff in my branch they are well qualified and experienced but due to some senior pressure they face difficulty in innovative way of teaching and participation in competitions. Avg age is around 40 years of age, all the lectures have their pg and some have done PhD in certain area of the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The cybersecurity curriculum in Dsu is designed to provide both theoretical foundations and practical experience in key areas such has security, linus and other related topics . With labs and workshops we get hands on experience on real world problems which help us during placement and internship . The faculty and the curriculum are up to date and help us learn the tools which are currently needed. Cybersecurity isn't just about IT it's also related to law(cybercrime laws),business(risk management) so introducing courses related to them can help students In cybersecurity certification is important so helping students to prepare for certification such has cissp, CompTIA and others can help students a lot Coming to the exams it's not that stressful we will have a month or two to prepare and me personally think 1 week is enough to clear it

Placement Experience:

The placements at presidency university offers is average, the placements percentage is high but the packages are low, the highest was around 13L per Annum and average of around 3L per annum. Students are eligible for placements in third year, while having many opportunities for internships during the period of 4 years. There are various companies that visit our college for placements such as shell, tech Mahindra, dell, capgemini, and many more companies. My plan after degree is get a high paying job either through placements or self searched interviews

Placement of this college is decent. If students give thier maximum they will get it and the good part is, the college pushes us for placements and introduces many more things for good placements like placement programs. If they failed to give us campus placement, it is quite tough to get off campus placemnt because of the competiton.
