Muralidhar Girls' College (Journalism and Mass Communication dept.)

All in all, I love my college and a proud member. Starting from faculty to environment, it makes me feel at home. And trust me I am not lying to say that I love spending time in college than in my own house.

At the time when I got admitted it used to be year based exams, however now it haw changed and students are scored according CGPS systems. Several industry personals keep visiting the college for seminars and a placement drive takes place at the end of each year. Professors here are very warm and friendly which will end up giving you the advantage of learning without fear.

Just as I mentioned that several company heads keep visiting the college. Mainly if you want to opt for Journalism, you will surely have the oppirtunity to meet with some great minds, highly successful in their respective fields.

The list is endless. Starting from Saraswati Puja, Teachers' Day, Internation Women's Day, National Youth Day, Anandamela (kind of an intra-college fair), Basanta Utsav to our favourite Annual Social. We love to actively participate in each and every celebration.

The structure is quite feasible and scholarships are also available. For my course I had to pay around Rs. 8000 at the time of admission which included both admission fees and course study fees for the next 3 months. The course fees changes so please refer to college website to know the exact amount.

The college does have scholarship facilities for the economically backward students. However, I did not avail any. But, the procedure is pretty simple as I know. Please refer to the college websites for further details.

We are an all girls' college. Women empowerment gets highly promoted in our college. We believe that every person is same and thus we all deserve equal rights. We have some extra curricular activity and competition always going on in the college. We compete with other college and become proud winners. Whether be it a sports event, or a debate or a dance competition.

I always say this to everybody that I have the best seniors even though they left college 2-3 years ago, I still can go to them with my queries and I know that they will help me best to their knowledge. You will never face any ragging, which is a major problem in several famous and infamous organisations.

It is a famous college for Journalism and Mass Communication, affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The admission process is very simple. Based on you 12th standard marks you get admitted and called for the further conuselling procedure. I got admitted in the year 2017. The friendly environment is pretty welcoming. Surely you will never feel out of place.

The faculty members in my department are pretty good. Mainly our HOD Dr. Indrani Raha. Apart from regular classes you can at any time just go to them with your queries and unless they are pre-occupied with some work, there is 101% gurantee that they will help you out or atleast try their best.
