Remarks

Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA branch is an extremely professional law college that offers two 5 year integrated programs that are B.A LLB and BBA LLB. The campus might be smaller than other universities however, it is well- built, clean and very secure. All the classes are air-conditioned and the teachers are provided with a mic so that they can be audible to every student. It focuses on both theory and practical studies for every subject for better understanding through projects, presentations and special guest lectures where they invite famous dignitaries to explain their legal experiences. Moot court competitions are held to improve the litigation skills and everyone gets a chance to participate. Certain drawbacks include lack of sports facilities, no proper cafeteria and a strict 75 percent attendance rule with no medical excuses. All the students are required to wear a uniform (formals). To apply one has to clear the SLAT examination and PIWAT interview arranged by the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

BA LLB was the right choice because I was sure that I wanted to pursue law in the future. A five-year integrated course focuses more on the legal subjects like Torts, Constitution, Contracts etc. than History and Political Science. Symbiosis has made it compulsory for the students to do 2 internships per year so that they get a practical experience than just learning the theory. In the last two years, students can focus on paid internships that help them to get a better job after graduation. The faculty is strict but quite experienced and well versed in the subjects they teach. For every subject, two teachers are assigned so that if one is on leave, the substitute can continue. Every faculty is regular and they hardly take any leaves. If a student faces any problems with the subject, the assigned faculty takes out extra time to guide such students. The teaching method is clear and quite fun as it is filled with live examples. The term exams are not too difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Symbiosis NOIDA is very particular about internships and has made it compulsory for the students to engage in at least 2 internships per year so that they get practical experience. It also emphasises on social work which is why it is mandatory to work at an NGO in the 3rd semester. There is no provision for on-campus internships however, the college provides off-campus internships to students who choose to intern through the college. the students also have a choice to find their own internship if not through college. The stipend mostly depends on the work of the students. the college takes an assessment to interview all students about their internships.

Placement Experience

3

The students start getting paid internships from the 4th year and the stipend is according to the work they do. The college gives full support to the students to work for their internships and focus on it. in the last semester (5th year), the students have a well-organised resume which helps them to get good jobs. The college only offers placements to the meritorious students however, it also provides recommendations for all students and gives them a list of the various companies they can apply for a job. Many law firms visit the college and take interviews to select students. The campus placement rate is not that high. After graduation, one can go for judiciary, litigation, corporate jobs, academician or pursue LLM.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees at the institute are 3 lakhs per annum that has to be paid in two instalments, after every semester. Apart from the academic fees, there is separate pay for hostel accommodation. There are no extra fees for the subjects one chooses, the competitions that are organised by the college, the fests that take place for recreation or even for the uniform worn by the students. A student is entitled to a scholarship if he has a good SLAT Score however, to maintain it one has to secure a fixed CGPA too. The college has no policies for any kind of financial assistance. There is no provision of campus jobs at Symbiosis.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of Symbiosis Noida known as the SYMFIESTA is quite famous and exciting as students from all over Delhi NCR region attend the fest. The students get to participate and learn many new things while organising this fest that includes- Personal relations, interacting with students, getting sponsorship, flashmobs, IT team, management, discipline, food and performing on stage. Since it is a three-day fest, the college offers lots of activities, fashion shoes, games, quizzes, dances, bands etc to participate in with rewards and gifts for everyone and party at night. The library is not very huge but it has almost every important book that you can require during your studies. There are many clubs for students interested in donating books, dancing, reading, computers and moot court. The campus is small and lacks sports facilities. All classrooms are air-conditioned and students get their individual seats so that they are comfortable. Cultural programs are held every month .

Interview Experience

4

The students are required to appear for the SLAT Examination organised by the Symbiosis college which can be either written or online. The sections include English, Elementary Mathematics, General knowledge, legal reasoning and mental ability questions. Around 180 to 200 multiple choice questions are asked in this exam out of which one has to score above 85 to get into the NOIDA branch. After this test, the students are selected for a round of personal interview known as the PI WAT at Symbiosis. The students are asked basic questions like why they want to pursue this course, what are their future goals, why this college and what do they find interesting in law. The students are asked to carry their certificates for both co-curricular and academic activities. Sometimes the students are asked legal reasoning questions or their views on some recent event that is on news. To prepare, be properly dressed, revise famous cases that have controversial judgments and know your GK well.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University | BA Hons

I wanted to pursue law in the future and a five year integrated course was a better way to achieve my goals than studying BA for three years and then entering into a LLB program.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There were around 20 to 25 speakers in my course. Because of an enormous number of understudies in a solitary course, we were partitioned in various segments and each segment has distinctive instructors for a similar subject ( few were normal). The majority of the teachers are matured between 50 to 60 who are probably going to get retirement however they have the main part of information and experience since they are profoundly qualified. Also, not many speakers have recently added researchers of the organization who don't have that much insight yet discovered new and simpler strategies of learning and instructing.

After the 5th semester students get eligible for campus placements. The highest package companies were Byju's, Big Basket, Tech Mahindra, etc. and give the best offers to the undergraduate students. Highest package was 7Lpa and the average was 1.2Lpa and the profiles offered were BDA, CSE, Marketing, HR, etc. Out of 100% students 70-80% students get placed and the rest prepare for Master course My plan after getting the degree is to prepare for the Master course.
