What Students Say
Likes
- Majorly we have a very qualified faculty including AIR1 professors in diff competitive exams
- Classes are not rigorous as our time is fixed which is 9:25am to 2:00pm with a 45 min and 15 min break in between and each class is just of 75 mins which enables the scope to do various other activities in the evening
- Good competitive crowd as SLAT (entrance exam) has various filtering rounds such as personal interview and Cv and the curriculum is also up to date catering to the needs of cooperate placements which justifies the higher fees they charge
Dislikes
- Very small campus with little to no sports facilities is a major drawback of the college but the college does send its students to various sports competitions
- No boys hostel which is also a major drawback of the college earlier we used to have a boys hostel but after the construction of the new campus there is no boys hostel but just the girls hostel which is decent but a little higher priced
- Less number of fests and activities are held in the college compared to other uni which makes the campus life a little boring and stale although we do have jamming sessions and cultural evenings now and then
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is highly inclined towards cooperate sector making it a little hectic and rigorous but manageable. So this factor influenced me to join this course. Symbiosis law school in general has a very good name in the placement record in the field of law. We have people interning in supreme courts, high courts, NGOs, every where. The internship starts from 1st year onwards. The area of improvement of the curriculum can be to make it a little less rigorous as we have students who prepare for gov exams as well which makes it difficult to manage thier college studies along with thier prep. But overall satisfied with the curriculum. Exams are held twice in one semester one is open book exams and other is end sem but the internals are held during the entire semester as have some or the other submission each week which is quite hectic but not so difficult.
Internships Opportunities
We have major law firms like Khaitaan & co, tri legal, Amarchand visiting our campus for placements and as far as internships are concerned we have students working in various places like high courts, supreme courts, NGOs, law chambers etc. but there is no stipend provided in the case of interships in 1st and 2nd year. But one can expect a stipend of ?10000 from 3rd year onwards. Doing internships are mandatory from the 1st year onwards which makes the student ready for the cooperate world. We can arrange the internships from our side or the college can also provide for us if someone requires.
Placement Experience
The placements record of our college is decent we have people working in tier 1 law firms but mostly get placed in tier 2 or 3. The avg package is around 6-8 lakhs. The students become eligible to sit for placements 8th semester onwards which is after 4th year. The highest package bagged is 21 lakhs per Annum. Percentage of students getting placed is 60%. My plans after getting the degree is to get into cooperate sector
Fees and Financial Aid
Semester fees- ?219000 Yearly fees- ?438000 One time admission fees- ?20000 Scholarship only available to students who are in the top 3 of the course at the end of the semester They get 70%,60%,50% rebate on thier tuition fees respectively There's no boys hostel but one can get a nearby PG in approx ?200000 for 11 months Girls hostel cost ?210000 for 11 months as well
Campus Life
As we have a very small campus we have little to no sports facilities in the campus but our college try to send students to various competitions around India. The library is the college is excellent one can get any journal or book there is. The classroom facilities are decent as we have small board as well as white board along with full conditioned AC classrooms. The overall campus is okayish or not that great as there are no facilities for sports etc. we do have various students clubs like dance, music, drama which is a life saver and they have a good impact on our campus lives. But overall the amount of fees they charge is not justified with the campus life we get not to mention there is no boys hostel.
Admission
I applied to Nirma uni as well as Christ uni bangalore and got in both. But I chose SLSN mainly because of the Delhi proximity advantage it has. As majorly All the law chambers and firms are here only not to mention honourable Supreme Court. So getting Internships and placements is comparatively easy here compared to other to uni in which I got in. The admission of SLS Noida is done through SLAT which is a computer based entrance test occurred twice every year in may. But from 2024 onwards it will be held in the month of Dec after Clat. After clearing the cutoffs of the computer test students are required to appear for online personal interview for which they have to make a CV. The interview process is smooth they provide all the necessary info to the students like time slots and deadlines. So the overall admission process might be a little rigorous compared to other uni. The fees for Slat is ?4000 and applying to colleges on top is additional ?1000 per course
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is around 2:60 The student to student relationship is very good we have a qualified staff of faculty who are very considerate. Even our director sir who teaches us law of torts is pretty chill (but not in the case of dress code violation). The faculties are very approachable we can meet them anytime after the class hours upto 4pm and they also respond to mails sent by the students promptly. The faculty I liked the most is Dr. Meenakshi Kaul she teaches accountancy, coming from a non commerce background I am able to understand and score in her subject and the class is also very engaging in her period. There is no faculty I didn't like as there are pros and cons to every faculty and it changes person to person. Exams are conducted twice in a semester one is open book test of 15 marks which is comparitevly easy and the other is end semester exams which is held in Nov in sem 1 which is also moderate. Very less students are not able to pass the exams.
