Course Curriculum Overview

The course is not so easy. The schedules are very hectic. We have to stay for our lab periods till 5pm which is very tiring. Our practical exams too are very tough ans we have to give viva also. Then there is internal assessment and other projects as well.

Placement Experience

The placement and job opportunities are enormous in number. Many companies to have visited the campus for recruitment. The placement cell keeps us informed about any career fair or internships available for us.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not so expensive. The course is of three years. First year fee is around Rs 42,000, second and third year fee is Rs. 32,000. Thus the total fee appear to be little bit high but the facilities and faculty provided us compensate with that.

Campus Life

The college organise very rich fest and activities. It fully takes care of the holistic growth of the students and organise many sports activities at the campus with exciting cash prizes as well. Other educational events are also conducted.

Admission

I wanted more intricate nd specific knowledge so I chose B.Sc. Honors for my graduation. The application process is quite simple. Just fill the form available on the website with required details and send to the college and the final merit list will be announced.

Faculty

The faculty is highly qualified and dedicated towards their work. They focus on more student response time in the classroom and give individual attention to work on their weak subjects or parts. They are very helpful in nature.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements.
