Remarks

Overall the college experience was fine the management always aimed at improving the standards and infra of the college.

Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE examination and scored 90 marks my all India rank in the exam was around 72000. I opted for DIT as it was the best option (in this rank) available in my hometown, Dehradun.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum was decent being in IT branch I expected that we will be taught the most current technologies, but sadly that was not the case with the University curriculum, as it was an older one.

Internships Opportunities

During my course, for internship you had to look out on your own, or you could do a paid internship wherein companies like HP will teach you on a technology and charge a fee for that course.

Placement Experience

3

I don't remember the exact figures but around 70-80% of students were placed. Companies like Infosys, WIPRO, Adobe, HCL, Headstrong, Orange, Samsung, Libsys etc came to the campus. The packages offered were of the range of 1.8 LPA to 5 LPA.

College Events

3.5

College celebrates events like Freshers party, farewell, college fest and many more small events like quizzes, painting competitions etc. Most of them are organized by student clubs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure at my time was around 70K per year (excluding hostel) which was revised to around 1.2Lacs per year by year 2012. Considering the revise in the Fee it became a little expensive option.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know there was a concept of scholarship for people who scored above 90% in their 12th exams.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was cool in college we were expected to wear a uniform 4 days a week and 1 day was kept as casual day (casuals but not funky clothes were allowed). Gender ratio was also good as there were decent number of girls in all branches (25 to 30%). There is no discrimination with regard to race, religion, gender etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I did not stay in an Hostel but as far as reviews are concerned, hostel facilities are fine and adequate. If you want to stay outside college you can easily find PG's and rented accommodations ranging from 6K to 8K(including food) per person on twin sharing basis.

Alumni/Alumna

I did not have much interaction with seniors as I was not staying at the hostel if you stay inside campus then it is a chance that you will interact more with seniors.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs were not very hectic it was a decent experience with the exams at times the University surprised us with off syllabus questions.

Faculty

3

Faculty was decent there were few good teachers and others were average not the best teachers but most of them were very helpful student initiates were always encouraged.

Oracle these days as some alumni of our college are working there and they have made them come to our university every year. Google and Amazon as well hired students almost every year from our college and because it's a batch of 900 students the average is 8 lakhs as some students even gets placements of 40-50 LPA every year.

Students become eligible for placements in the 7th sem. Recently, Visa visited our college but didn’t make any offers. The highest package in 2024 was 84 LPA, while the average is around 4 LPA. Nearly 80% of students get placed across different companies. After my degree, I plan to build strong tech skills and aim for a good software developer role.

Godrej, Infosys and likewise tech and non-technical companies which have decided to have some AI engineers in their ranks are coming to our college. Also since our college don't have such big strength like the private universities have and therefore placements final figures may be small but in all, our percentage of placements are better and higher than those of the private universities.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are quite bad as only a few companies come to our college for placement drive . Students becomes eligible for campus placement from the 3rd year onwards . Companies visited like TCS , HCL and some other not much popular companies visited but this year placement is very low . Our college also fake advertising about the placement they advertise the interships also as placements. 10 to 20 percent in BTech CSE are getting only Placement. I don't know what I will do after getting degree but currently I am doing a side by side diploma from IIT Roorkee to get some extra knowledge and skill improvement for better placements.

Oracle, Microsoft, DeShaw and almost every company which needs IT services have looked upon GEU because we are trained that way. This is the reason our median has gone up and this year was a breakout year for placements for GEU as over 15-20 students were hired for packages of over 40 LPA.
