Remarks

The overall management of the college is very good. With a slight improvement in facilities and available manpower, it may turn out to be one of India's finest Agricultural institutes.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college provides theoretical, practical and technical aspects of agriculture and allied activities. Each semester has around ten or eleven courses that provide scientific insight into agriculture. Most of the courses involve practicals. The exams are conducted in accordance to the grading system. The college is a constituent of Odisha University of Agricultural Technology and is accredited by ICAR.

Placement Experience

2.5

No companies visit the college for placement as it is a satellite campus. However, placements are conducted in the main University campus situated in Bhubaneswar.

College Events

2.5

The college organizes an athletic meet, dramatic fest, literary fest and a annual function every year. The student union plays a vital role in this regard. Apart from college events, students also participate in University sports, Agri Unifest and other events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college accepts fee through NetBanking and DD. No additional costs are asked for admission. The college maintains transparency in such matters. There are three categories of college fees that students are required to pay. These are 'free seat', 'cost sharing seat' and 'NRI seat'.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Government of Odisha, Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Odisha University of Agricultural Technology offer a wide range of scholarships to the students of our college.

Campus Life

2.5

The number of female students is relatively more in comparison to the make students. There is no discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, caste, sexual orientation, etc. in the college. The student union organizes a number of competitions every year in which students participate in great numbers.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are no PGs nearby. Everybody needs to stay in the hostel; except for day scholars. The college provides three-seated accommodations to the UG students in five of its hostels. A guest house is available to people who come for a short term visit to the college.

Alumni/Alumna

The college was established in 1981 as an exclusive boys' institute and later on the college started providing co-education. It has produced many notable figures in the society. The alumni organisation of the college is pretty well established.

Admission

There are two ways of getting into the college. An aspirant can apply for the OUAT UG admission entrance exam if he or she is a resident of Odisha. Otherwise one can sir for the ICAR UG entrance exam. It is held at a national level. There are three colleges under OUAT that offer Agriculture as their primary course. The colleges are located at Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur and Bhawanipatna.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty are competent with sound knowledge of the course they teach. The faculty are student-friendly and provide holistic education to the students. However, there is lack of man power as the posts of professors and lab assistants in some courses are lying vacant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
