Remarks

The college as a whole is the reason I have the confidence and ability to be a go getter. Very rich values of responsibility and self reliance is instilled at a very early stage. The management can be a little uptight at times.but changing attitudes in students also need better moderation and handling by management.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is relevent, updated and engaging. Exam structure is fair and grading is done based on knowledge on the subject rather than by memorizing. The college with its rich culture has nurtured me in many ways that has enabled me to be more confident and outgoing (street smart)

Placement Experience

2.5

The college has placement in other departments such as B.Com or BBA but didnt have a placement program for Sciences.

College Events

5

Deepwoods, on of the most prominent inter college cultural event organized by Madras Christian College covers various Artistic displays across the city providing a platform for young aspiring stars to showcase their talents. Each Hall has a special cultural event, Moon Shadow by Selaiyur Hall, Octavia by Heber Hall, Utsav by thomas Hall

Fee Structure And Facilities

Admission fees was approx 6000 rupees. Every even semester was 500 rupees and odd semester was 100 rupees. Examination fees of 1000/ semester (variable depending on courses) was levied, apart from these, no donations or hidden payments wer sought from students

Fees and Financial Aid

No. the college offered scholarships to students from backward communities or difficult backgrounds. Semester Fees was as low as Rs. 5 per student / semester under the scholarship

Campus Life

4

The college has a fairly biased gender mix with 60:40 ratio favouring Men. The college provided equal opportunities for all genders and this reflected in the extra curricular activities as well. Football, badminton, hockey athletics, and intellectual competetions wer encouraged. Students residing in the hostels had exposure to one of the best hostel cultures in India.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors wer very welcoming and decent. Always willing to support fellow juinors in getting acclimatized to the new environment. Alumnus of the department have also been very instrumental in creating a sense of environmental responsibility through organizing nature conservation activites and such

Admission

1. College Reputation, 2. Culture & environment Admission process included application submission along with history of marks, admission was granted on merit and on first come basis. The course selection was based on interest and also fees for the entire course was minimal due to Government Aid

Faculty

4.5

Each semester had 5 core subjects with at least 1 separate faculty in charge of each subject. Most of them wer Phd level staff who are highly proficient and knowledgeable in their respective domains. Several others were persuing advanced researches in various topics relevant to our curriculum whuch greatly enabled us to get greater insights on our subjects
