Remarks

My college is really good for those people who are completely application based. Theoretical knowledge is also emphasized but application is like an utmost GOD's teaching in this institution. + The atmosphere is also quite welcoming and utilities are also pretty stacked up.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

* There are 2 ordinance that are currently ongoing in our college. 1. Old Ordinance, 2. New Ordinance. * The Old Ordinance is almost being replaced by the New Ordinance. By year 2022 the Old Ordinance will be completely stripped off the course structure. * Even as it may be both the ordinance are more focused towards Machine Learning, it's superset and their applications. * Therefore important courses to ML like fundamental mathematics and basic of programming languages and algorithms are the main focus in our course structure. * The New Ordinance has their entire structure rebuild so that it is completely relevant to the newer and trending technologies while keeping in mind of the evergreen ones. * The Old Ordinance has a few outdated courses but anyone enrolling in the college now has to take up the New Ordinance. But still the course is pretty relevant to today's trends. * Even though our college is more focused towards a very practical approach of education and hence is more focused towards industrial needs but still theoretical knowledge and research is widely promoted by the professor's. * Industrial visits are not in any way productive in our college as it only provides 2 courses namely Electronics and Information Technology.

Placement Experience

4.5

* The number of companies that visit our college is around 91 of which some of the more famous ones are : 1. Google India 2. Nvidia 3. Goldman Sachs 4. Microsoft 5. Amazon 6. Atlassian E.T.C. * Generally the procedure to get placed is as follows : 1. First Round : Coding test 2. Second Round : Coding and Other concept related Interview 3. Third Round : Interview to Focus on projects completed. 4. Fourth Round : hr * Usually all the students on campus do get placed pretty easily. Just a few students let's say at max 5-6 students are sometimes withheld from placement because of extremely poor effort input. * As a matter of fact the seniors talk a classes of competetive coding and basics of Operating Systems and other subjects from the very first semester to take the students up to speed.

College Events

3.5

* Cultural Events : 1. Foundation Day : Celebrated in August as a mark of the foundation of institution. This is an intra-college event where the main performances are given by the first year as part of their welcome activity. 2. Effervescence : The biggest cultural fest our college holds with an audience of atleast 10000 from all across India. * Technical event : 1. Aparoksha : A technical event which holds even greater reputation than any of our other events with big events like "The Hack In The North" and "Ted X" etc. * Sports event : 1. Asmita : A reletively small event with participants maily from across the state. * Many more smaller events are held by the cultural, technical and the sports societies but they are mainly intra-college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

* The fee structure is pretty ok in the sense of ability to pay. If you belong to a lower middle class family then the fee is a little hard to pay if considered that the college is government funded. * On an average a student from general category has to pay a total of 2 Lakhs with including hostel and mess fees. But other categories have fee relaxations which reduce a wooping 1.5 Lakhs off the original fees. * The college has no concept of additional fees required and the system that handles the fee structure is quite transparent in their process.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

* Yes. A lot of different schemes are available for students to apply from to get some relaxations in the tution fee. * To avail such services we have to talk to the scholarship section of the college. They provide you with a bunch of available ways according to your situation. And some forms to fill. * After forms are filled and submitted with the necessary documents for that particular process then the amount is refunded directly into your account.

Campus Life

4.5

* Gender ratios are extremely poor. There's a ratio of 1 to 10 of Girls to Boys. * Parties are a normal thing amongst the students and are not generally looked upon by the wardens or caretakers whatsoever until and unless you create too much disturbance. * There are 5 basic cultural societies namely : 1. Photography Club 2. Music Club 3. Drama Club 4. Dance Club 5. Literature Club * Discrimination in the basis of gender, caste, race, sexuality etc is highly frowned upon is taken care with high priority by the college administration if found. * Robotics is a high held topic in our college and is encouraged by the professor's with high regards. So much that we have our own advance robotics lab inside our campus handled by our great professors. * Sports is although on a lower side but still the society is trying hard to raise the standards of the overall quality. * Being an IT focused institute our labs are top notch with a range of equipments from the very basics to the most advance "High Edge System" for really heavy CPU and GPU computations.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

* Yes. Opting for hostel services is compulsory for each and every student taking in admission. * The hostel are the pride of our institute. If compared to most hostel services we have one of the most clean and spacious hostels. To compare : 1. Every cleaning of corridors and washrooms. 2. 24x7 water to drink and bath with a utility of heaters. 3. Water filters fitted on every floor of each hostel. 4. Washing machines in each hostel. Depending on hostel size the number of washing machine goes from 1 to 8. 5. Spacious rooms for both who wants to live single and those who wants to live double.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is quite weak in IIIT Allahabad. We do not have a specialised group where current student can consult with the Alumni of our college. Although we do invite our successful alumi's to give speeches and help students if they have any doubt as to how to proceed with anything academic.

Admission

I choose the course Information Technology in a college named IIIT Allahabad. The reasons why I choose this institution as my college is because I heard that the coding environment is absolutely amongst the best. Also that the college promots practical knowledge rather just have a focus on theories of no particular use. * To take an admission in this institution we first have to rank well in a test called IIT-JEE. The test is based on an average knowledge of Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. * I scored around 229 out of 360 to receive a rank of 4036 India wide. After we receive our ranks we are supposed to fill out our preferred colleges in a website which allocats us the best college we can get amongst the filled preferences. This allocation is done on the basis of our ranks and seat availability. So the lower the rank the higher the chances are that you get a college of your utmost preference. * Once the college is allotted we receive further steps as to how to follow the admission process. For IIIT Allahabad the process was as follows : 1. Fill out some official forms given on their website and get it stamped from the administration office. 2. Later get a medical certificate as to testify that I am fit to attend the college on a regular basis. 3. Payment procedures which provides the options of Online payment, NEFT, draft. 4. Finally after the payment is confirmed we get to select a room in the hostel alloted to us.

Faculty

3.5

* Considering the fact that each semester we have 5 courses upto 7 semesters the max number of professors that teach us is around 35. But on an average 1 professor sometimes teaches more than 1 course and some courses need more than 1 professors therefore on an average each student is taught by atleast 10 different professors aged at range from 32 to 65. * It is rule that our college only hires professors with atleast a Ph.D in their particular field. And they are divided into 4 main categories : 1. Head of Academics 2. Head Of the Department 3. Assistant Head of the Department 4. Professor This allocation is done on the basis of experience. * Every professor has a very deep understanding of the core of the subjects they are supposed to teach. And most of the professors are very apt in teaching and wanting the students to understand is their first priority. * The lectures are mostly focused towards how the industry uses the following concepts to help build a very productive and efficient system may it be from development to management.
