Remarks

Since I was in the mechanical stream I want to say that only most of the work is with your department so limit yourself with the department only. Otherwise, college management is the effective one because they are able to manage different streams.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It follows the procedure that is fixed by University but I have to say labs in the institution is better and if a student wants to take advantage of that he can pursue research culture and internals conducted by college are very good. And related to industry research there is industrial training and research project in the last year of engineering that is very helpful.

Placement Experience

1.5

Now there is one bad point in every institution and in this institution, it is this, they don't have any structure or any particular placement cell that can provide you placement, you are on your own, there is no campus placement but there is one room saying placement cell but believe me it never opens and same is the case of internship no proper structure regarding this actually this college lacks exposure.

College Events

2.5

College does celebrate a lot of events. 1.techno-cultural fest 2.technical competitions. 3.cultural festivals They are usually the biggest one in the city and people from other colleges participate in it and since this college is managed by Sikh trust they do celebrate their cultural festivals also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible It is cheap as compare to other engineering colleges it is 50k to 60k annually and in this all charges included. There is full transparency in the fee structure breakdown as they provide you the receipt of it which shows all the charges that the college has taken from you.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, actually fees are very much feasible so I hadn't opted for any scholarship but if one wants to opt he/she can surely opt and college provide scholarship for Sikh people and people that are below the poverty line. I hadn't opted for any education loan but if you want to opt then you should have to opt yourself college will not provide any option.

Campus Life

4

In mechanical there are only boys in my batch and in electrical there are more boys but in all other streams, boys and girls are equally distributed. There is no politically biased behavior in the college and regarding clothes, you have to wear a uniform from Monday to Thursday and your choice of clothes on Friday and Saturday and since this college is managed by religious trust girls can't wear pants even on Friday and Saturday. And the atmosphere of the college is very much balanced, girls have equal authority as such the boys have.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is only a girls hostel near the college there is no boys hostel so I had opted for paying guest and from my colleague I came to know that hostel is very good for girls and with good food and proper security arrangements.

Alumni/Alumna

No alumni network, if you want to make that you have to do it all by yourself like you have some cousins studying there as senior they can only make alumni network and senior network otherwise no such network available from college side.

Admission

I passed JKCET to get admission. I opted for mechanical engineering, the admission process is quite simple there is usually counseling and then BOPEE is a board that conducts the entrance exam to inform you about the particular date at which you have to go to college and do the admission. Mine has taken 15 days after the result.

Faculty

4

In my opinion, my branch faculty was above par, they have knowledge of subjects and most important they are cooperative, I had never faced any difficulty regarding the faculty, they help the students in the best possible way and my head of department was also very helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
