Esha's Review On B. N. M. Institute Of Technology - [BNMIT], Bangalore

I took the CET entrance exam. I chose BNMIT due to good facilities and infrastructure well within city limits which was important. Since it meant less travel time and more time to study and spend time with friends.

Course curriculum mostly included all the ECE subjects with four subjects pertaining to Telecommunications. It included Digital Signal Systems and Signals and Systems.

Companies like Philips, Accord, Keane had come to take students for internships. Internship was a very good experience to gain hands on WRT various working technologies. Average stipend offered during the year 2007 was around 15K.

We were lucky to have hardworking staff at our placement cell who went out their way to bring multiple companies to our campus.We had few of the below companies which came for placements .

We had one technical and one cultural fest every year. Both were inter collegiate fests where in many other Engineering colleges were invited. Many of the students used to actively participate in the fests which used to enrich their technical knowledge.

The college was not offering any scholarship or any loan facility during my college days. But since the college has evolved multiple folds in all these years with quite a few VTU toppers they might be encouraging the students by providing scholarships.

Gender ratios were almost 60% male to 40% female students. There was not gender discrimination in any of the aspects at any point of time, there was no discrimination based on the economic status as well, hence providing a conducive environment for students to concentrate on studies and development.We had both external and internal technical workshops based on the subjects .

We have a vast alumni network which meets once every year. It's a great platform for the ex-students to meet and greet each other and also a great networking platform as well.

Exams and lab sessions were very rightly scheduled keeping in mind the semester exam schedules and needs.Internal exams papers were rightly framed based on the VTU final exam papers.

We had highly qualified lecturers with vast working knowledge of the respective subjects. Lecturers used to give a practical example for every theoretical concept and also problems and solutions based on the concepts.
