It is a great college to study in if you want to be a doctor under the guidance of some of the most renowned faces in Odisha in the field of medicine. The college also has a rich history of great performances in the University examinations.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is good, there's plenty scope for research. Being a medical college, The practicals and exams have always been hectic, but there is always a sense of satisfaction if you have love for the subjects.
Placement Experience
Yes, the college provides internship for a period of one year after passing the final University examination where the newly qualified doctors have to go through 10 different departments on a rotational basis. The stipend was ?11000 per month.
College Events
The college holds a Festival call Medifest every other year. It's celebrated with much grandiosity, and students from all other medical colleges in Odisha participate in it. Apart from that the college continually holds State and national level seminars for doctors.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is a little expensive to be frank. Talking about my batch, we had a tuition fees of 5. 5 lakhs per year for 4. 5 years. It has now been increased for the subsequent batches. Some families might find it a bit expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships were provided by the state government for students whose parents had low income. The college doesn't provide any kind of scholarship or loans as per my knowledge. But there's always education loans from banks. I had availed education loan from Bank of India.
Campus Life
Gender ratios has roughly been 1:1 on an average over different batches. We have students from almost all religions and ethnicity. As far as extra curricular activities are concerned, the college organizers cricket league and football league annually. We have cultural and academic workshops every couple of months.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors have always been supportive from day one. They are always ready to help in any matters be it studies, or personal. Me being an alumni myself can also vouch that we have a good alumni network and almost all of us are in contact.
Admission
I got admission through NEET UG which was followed by State Counselling and I ended up here. This college was preferred because it is the first private college of Odisha with a respectable history and Great performance.
Faculty
Faculties are very qualified, renowned doctors. Always interested in teaching, always guiding students through their clinical practice. They also conduct Mentor sessions for particularly weak students.
